I would have liked if they had leaned even more into FF8 but I'm still happy with what we got. Now to farm some orchestrion rolls...
I'm also very worried that we're building the next Eureka zone.

my feedback: it was fun & the new loot system is heavenly
I'm excited to see what my forgetful/braindamaged WoL cooks up for the next returning bosses though I hope the next tier's gear looks better cause maternity dresses ain't doing nothing for my characters, male or female lol. Yeah, the first 3 are really really easy but savage is right around the corner so theres more challenging stuff soon :>
If anything my only complaint is that the first boss/zone was flashy and every following duty was aesthetically kinda drab. I also wish there was some kind of sequence where it showed us going to the boss fights. Our character summons [insert boss here], screen fades to black... aaaaand now its time to fight. Where are we? How did we get there? Why isn't my WoL surprised Titan is a now go-kart ???
The great: 8 item drops is an amazing change. It is so much better not having to re-run the same fight because you didn't luck out with RNG.
The good: The fights are really fun, although Eden Prime is a little too mechanic light. Titan was a lot of fun once the group got the mechanics down. Difficulty feels like a real good place in week 1.
The bad: It isn't a proper raid, like the 24-player raid series. It is really getting disheartening that we aren't "storming the castle," and the fights are essentially four different trials. The environments and everything are gorgeous, and it's very disappointing we aren't given the opportunity to explore them.
I think it'd have been neat to have a larger area to run around in, see more of our work by being able to run around a certain extent of the Empty (lol) instance. The initial preview during live letter felt like we'd be able to run up to Eden ourselves. The great: 8 item drops is an amazing change. Agreed. Even if it's something small like BCoB. Eden and Omega just feels like it, "Eh, we can't be bothered to make an explorable area." It's too bad, because it really hurts immersion.
I was foolish for thinking better MSQ quality would equate to better raid quality. This raid tells me that SE could care less about their raiding community. Going from Coil, where there were actual paths, to 4 separate trials. There is no feeling of adventure, no setup. Only ever square or circular arenas. This all feels artificial, and the whole story around how the elements have to be dispersed felt like an excuse for SE to shoehorn in old primal fights. Reusing old assets with minimal effort. Also progressively dialing back the difficulty on Savage raids. I know that the raiding has been going downhill, but this is the first time I have actually felt insulted by a raid. Fighting Titan for the 4th time and Leviathan for the 3rd? Really?
Same, I was expecting more FF8 stuff and was disappointed to see it was the only the first boss and the theme was used in the second. I'm predicting the NPC we get will lead to Griever or Ultimecia.
Soken versions of The Extreme and Maybe I'm a Lion? Hell yes, please.
Remember Mario kart titan the 1st time we had to fight him cuz our sure character does lol
I liked battles. Also all my fan feeling for FF8 background in The Empty base loc and in first two battles and especially for Eden magic cinematic.
I feel weird about Primals, though... considering it's a FF8 reference dungeon, I was hoping, kind of, to see more bosses from there? Leviaphan if okay at this point since it was a GF, but instead of Titan I was waiting to see Brothers... battles are still fun anyway so I'm not disappointed.
To me it seems like the first part of the series was meant to set up the rest. The next bit will probably be filled with more FF 8 things, or at least I would think so.I liked battles.
