If Leviathan and Titan are going to be a thing, I expect Garuda, Shiva, Ifrit, and Ramuh to be fights as well. Water, Earth, Wind, Ice, Fire, Lightning...
The thing is, they used the 2 elements that were meant to be the spark of life in the Empty. The rest would be a bit much, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they went that route.
Well, they want to realign etherical élément balance, We will have every other element except maybe light and dark.
light and dark aren't elements
Astral and umbral (light and dark) are combinations of elements. This is why cnj has access to three, whereas thm has access to the other three.
But they still require balancing. That's precisely what Eden's role is, tipping the scale from dark to light or vice versa.
So in addition to our six elemental primals, we may also get Light and Dark bosses, or perhaps something hat embodies both.
Being an FFVIII fanservice, I wouldn't be surprised if they used a version of Greiver for that job.
Or perhaps the big darkness-voidsent boss is a take on Ultimecia's final form.
I thought even having these two was too much. They could have written another explanation to disperse the aether that had us pitted against other bosses. The writers had complete liberty over this raid story and this is what they decided to do. I would have been fine with new bosses or FF8 bosses, but not this. I feel like the other four primals I listed are going to get put in, but I hope not.
Urianger went with water and earth first because they're the most basic to creating and sustaining life, but the others are needed for anything beyond single-cell organisms. Geothermal activity, plants spreading through seeds on the wind, things like that.
Unless Eden can somehow manage the process itself or if Gaia can somehow achieve the same result, the plan as it stands is to fly around 90% of the world to reach areas where aether of a given element is plentiful, draw out the dormant aether with something that will continue to draw out more of that aether, and destroy it to release the aether back into the environment. It's almost like getting a heart pumping, just with more go-karts.
