Oh don't worry. People make fun of the Official Forums as a whole all the time.We need an ff14 equivilant to asmongolds WoW streams lol. Someone with a large follower base who would just laugh at the ridiculousness of this thread, proceed to look up this guys profile and explain exactly how it relates to why he would make a type of post like this followed by laughing about it.......just sayin'

While that may be true, I still don't see how they could enforce such a rule. There's no way to tell whether or not someone is parsing unless they openly admit they're using one. And they only have access to chat logs in the actual game, which most people that parse are smart enough not to talk about it through, instead going through Discord or some other offline communication method. As far as the site itself is concerned, I doubt they could do anything about that either. They can put up a stink about it but I doubt any actual copyright action could be made, since it doesn't actually profit off of anything owned by SE. Seems more like the grey area that is ACT has leaned more towards black, which doesn't really change anything if people continue to follow the 'don't ask don't tell' rule of thumb they have been since the beginning. At least not within the game's chat.Well, I agree with you. But, while FFLogs doesn't interact with with the game in any way, it lives from data extracted with the use of a 3rd party tool that does interact with FFXIV client. And there are this rule:
While this was written to make easier to ban botters, it sounds me that ACT is forbidden. There isn't any warranty that GM's will continue turning a blind eye to parsing.
I'd like to take a moment to thank SE for the recent changes to Healers. They were obviously made to counter the toxic behavior that FFLOGS breeds. Too many Healers were overfocused on DPS, sacrificing the safety of their team, shuffling useful and critically necessary Boles to fish for cancerous Balances. However, obviously unintentionally, a new issue has arisen in the form of Dancer. People are using it to boost their fake numbers on this dumb website, even making non-DPS jobs their dance partners in the name of FFLOGS inflation! I also can only imagine how exacerbated the issue of discrimination will be since now not only will you be unfairly judged based on your DPS, but on your ability to have a Dancer pad your fake numbers. Not everyone has friends! SE, please address this issue more directly, and take down this website for good!

Umm... noooooooo.
Healers DPS as much as ever.
It's easy to see if they were padded. If they were, subtract 5% from their numbers... you have now un padded them. Dancer is certainly not causing issues in that way.
Edit: Oh, I see you are the OP. Wow, you're really not giving up on this.

Here we go again.
The amount of backlash they would receive would be unreal if they ever did such a thing.

Ironically, people would just move onto make a new site. We're more resilient than OP thinks, as if taking FFlogs down without taking out the ingame battle log first would somehow end statistical analysis and gathering.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

Alot of mmos have stuff in the client to stop external programs from running that interact with or read memory from the game. Parsers are either reading game memory or reading packet data. Both I believe are against ToS. SE could add detection mechanisms for it, which could simply autoban ppl for using Parsers. I doubt they would though.
And yes FFXIVLog does breed both stupid ppl and extreme toxicity. If it was just a tool for people to improve their static and self performance it would be great. But it is nothing but an Epeen contest where the top 200 of everything are simply in "FEED" parties specifically designed to inflate dmg. Yay whm getting drg and dnc buffs.
But 99% of the blame goes to SE on this one. Every single fight is determined based on a DPS check. Since DPS is the literal end all be all... NOT the mechanics, DPS will always be king. Healers will always be judged off their Dmg output instead of their job performance. Tanks will sacrifice mitigation for DMG increases. DPS will purposely stand in AOE to squeeze 10 more dps across the fight. Non-Meta classes will be thrown away because it could cause ppl to wait 1-2 weeks more to get better tome gear to clear the raid tier. Just pure bad design.

The problem is two-fold:
People who believe DF content is hard enough to warrant complete optimization.
and
People who think those that do are important to matter enough to worry about their opinion.
Neither problem is caused by a website nor parsers. This community has a weird habit of misplacing blame on things that have no bearing on the issues they face. They also have a weird fetish towards wishing to be apart of groups that don't want them. For example, if I wanted to make a group without Au Ra in it. Au Ra players would go crazy. Like they are somehow missing out. Like they are offended they can't group with someone that doesn't want to group with them.
My outlook is this. I don't want to group with people who don't want to group with me. So people who don't want to group with me, I'm not offended that they don't. Whether it be because I play a character type, class, play a certain way. I'm not going to tell you all how to feel. But I believe alot of you would benefit from a similar outlook.
Stress isn't good. And stressing over someone not wanting to group with you for whatever reason.. well I wouldn't do it. You all do you.
