if they do do rune knight I'd honestly hope it was a healer sorry dps people but healers are taking this. the idea of a healer that can absorb magic to keep going would be kinda cool.I’ve been asking for Rune Knight for ages and feel like it would be a perfect addition for FF14. Considering Garleans are based off the Ghestalian Empite from 6, the one dungeon that’s based off Magitek Research Facility, and the similarity between Fordola and Celes.
"Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."
that’s the funniest thing I heard of! Yeah,no, the next healer we get will be ranged and use magic like rest we have.
I don’t know, the whole concept of getting hit by magic just screams Tank to me. The only other option I could see is Rune Fencer as a dps but Rune Knight is a favorite of mine so I’m biased.
I would love Beastmaster or Puppetmaster. I am probably in the minority here, but I loved those jobs in FFXI.
I really like the idea of a Geomancer or elementalist type caster or healer. Perhaps, and hopefully not going to confusing, they can set down an AoE of 1 of X (however many thought best) that would change the spells effect. These would have, lets say a 5sec re-cast time, would not be able to stack on each other or mix. Perhaps best to have it the first one places is dominant, so placing a 2nd directly on top would have zero affect, but if it was halfway covered, only the exposed half of the new AoE would be useable. I am not gonna pretend I know the previous games 100% to recall skill names but an example.
Say you learn the spell "Call of the Elements", unable to be cast alone. While in the Fire AoE (which acts like Leylines, with no timer(?), just a self buff) the spell becomes a fire ball with set potency. Should you be in the Water AoE, it becomes a heal. Earth becomes a DoT. This would then in turn play with their other spells as well, making an AoE attack while in fire, an AoE heal in water. Of course they would be given the standard heals that do not require the AoEs, or perhaps just the potency is changed depending on the AoE they are in. Perhaps confusing but least in my head it sounds fun. To make up for constant moving perhaps little to no cast times.
I don't really have a specific job idea in mind, but rather a weapon type. I'd love it if the next melee dps used a whip blade. Like Ivy from Soul Calibur or Seven from Final Fantasy Type 0. I think it'd be a fun weapon lashing out as a whip for aoes or having a couple long ranged attacks it can use while still being mostly melee.
A real job advancement system or playable base jobs. As it stands there is a forced linear progression to advanced jobs which makes the whole thing pointless. You can't be an Archer without being a Bard and there is no alternative to Bard as an advanced job. Either allow for Archer to be a real Job all the way to max level with different abilities from Bard or offer an alternative job such as Beastmaster. The same for every base job. Rogue should have a Thief option etc..
Blue Mage, but like, for real this time.
They kinda tried this with SCH/INV, its awfull and they stated it will never happen again because of how it messed up balancing.A real job advancement system or playable base jobs. Class are a relic of the past they won't waste time and ressources with anymore.
The best we can hope to get is new jobs ans the worst being limited jobs.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
