    Advance dual jobs for every job currently on game (even a name change). Changing weapons and flavor (and even partyrole) when reaching lvl 90~99, of course is a LOT of work but an expansion just focused on advancing jobs.

    Warrior
    --> Warrior(Tank) (more tank focused tools)
    --> Berserk(DPS) (Dual axes)

    WhiteMage
    --> WhiteMage(Healer) (moar heals, casing while moving)
    --> LightKnight(Tank) (Big hammer, tanks by lots of autoheals and reraise etc (stoneskin back?))

    Monk
    --> Monk(DPS) (more punches/kicks spikes in damage for dps checks)
    --> Adept(MagicDPS) (Mantra hadookens, support heals, growing staff?)

    ...
    And so on, you get the idea (and better names), could even be like SCH/SMN so you dont have to level each one but have alternatives half the cost just pushing each default role to their best and an role alternative different way to play.

    Yeah its sad but youre right, which is why the cross class skill system got overhauled. It wasn;t the case at the beginning though, right after arr launch, they were even talking about making all the jobs cross role splits ie DRK rooting from GLA etc. I think that system could work, but for another game. For instance, limiting a job by just the weapon it uses could have been changed to a more ff5/11/tactics approach, where weaponskills were different from job abilities and spells. Problem is though, there still would only be a few classes that def would have to be a primary or base for special roles, like healer/tank. It would probably be a nightmare to balance though, considering there would be over 50+ job combinayions, out of 7 dow and 7 dom

    This is a really precise example of the system I was talking about, naming conventions aside(though that WAR split is really close.) There would be a lot more weapon style choices though, with WAR being able to use sword n board, but it really shined with 2h great weapons, etc. Things like Aetherflow could be weaponskills tied to battlebooks for instance, instead of smn/sch only using just that weapon type.

    There is already 4 melee dps and they used the argument that a ranged dps was needed to balance things. So, don't expect any melee DPS. So far we have:
    4 tanks
    3 healers
    4 melee DPS
    3 ranged DPS
    3 casters
    1 limited job/caster

    They have to release a healer, at the time of the 6.0, this will make 6 years since the last healer job, so it's the most in need role for a new job.
    After that, I'd guess another caster. Or maybe another ranged DPS but I doubt it since they just released one, but to balance everything, that's what they have to release.

    Agreed. For SB I said that we were going to get a caster long before RDM was even announced, purely because we only had 2 INT based classes at the time. I believe the next two jobs will be Healer and Caster. Ranged DPS just got one so I seriously doubt they would do another Ranged DPS. Or they could do 3 jobs next expansion and released Caster, Healer, Ranged DPS, but that would be pretty taxing after what occurred with the last time they implemented 3 jobs at the same time.

    I wouldn't mind any new job (hoping for a healer next, possibly Geomancer, maybe Chemist) but my pipe dreams include introducing new roles to existing jobs as, essentially, new jobs (with completely different skills, possibly retaining some of them for flavour and these could work differently depending on the role). I think someone said the same thing above but I would think that they would level separately if they were to be introduced (would be nice if not though). This is so that there could be, say, new job quest NPCs (or it could be the same trainers, just a different story line altogether) for lore reasons since some job story lines like the healer cement the whole healing aspect.

    If they were to introduce this, I think it'd be really great (and would give me hope for functional BLU and healing DNC xD). I also think this would get rid of the disappointment with many expecting future jobs to have certain roles (*cough* DNC and RDM to a certain extent?). You never know, they might run out of new jobs to think of in the future, especially previous Final Fantasy jobs.

    Uses classic moves from KH games to deal critical damage.

    This would be the next gunbreaker hype class, and a perfect platform to bring something popular from the KH franchise that can definitely pull in some subs.

    Also when you think about it, it become more and more taxing to add new job; you have to balance them with every existing job and make adjustement to every content for every existing jobs. Honnestly, I would not mind them starting to release only one new job for the next few extension and put more ressources on the late game content.

    I would like to see Beastmaster created as a true pet job to replace Summoner because it feels like the devs want Summoner to be something else now. Having Beastmaster take on much of what Summoner was before 5.0 would satisfy people who liked that gameplay and also allow the Summoner job to flourish into something that isn't bogged down by pet mechanics that prevent it from "feeling like a Summoner." I'd even go so far as to make Beastmaster a hybrid caster like Red Mage with some magic abilities unique to FFXIV lore or casted commands for the pets, along with melee combos using a whip that flow with whichever pet phase they are in. Something unique like that so it can't be called "Old Summoner" and fills in a role that is lacking. Physical range could probably work too.

    But obviously a 6.0 Healer please so we don't lose all of our healer mains T-T
