No hate, but how do you know the devs are already working on male viera?

To be fair, in the games industry discussing something internally is pretty much considered working on something. Takes about the same amount of effort and skill as being fully committed to the idea and working out how to execute its implementation.
There's a lot of management, priority, and compatibility checks to be made, especially for a live service.

Now whether or not they've got their artists in the polygon mines quarrying for some sweet man-bun is another thing entirely.

There's nothing to justify why au ra females are so much shorter than male au ra, but here we are. Do we really need to try and justify height at all?
I admit it would be interesting to see male viera at max height be shorter than female viera at max height since all the other races go by standard human biology when it comes to height - human males being taller than human females. Would be interesting to see a race that strayed away just a little bit from normal human biology. Yeah, it's pointless, but idk, I don't think there needs to be a point. I wouldn't be upset if the males were taller than the females or the same height. However, some races are just different in this game with different biology, and I think it would be an interesting difference to see.

For the record, I am not hugely fond of Au Ra dimorphism. I don't usually play females, but I'd be tempted to have one as an alt if they were closer to their original art. In their current implementation they hold no interest to me.

Perhaps male viera should boast muscle-guts as mentioned earlier on in the thread? It's a body type that hasn't been reflected in-game as of yet and if the desire is for the men to be different to the women for the sake of being different then such a move would help tick multiple boxes in the process.

I think it'd be more interesting than the men just being shorter than the women.

So do you think they're discussing the addition of male viera around this time? And where did Yoshi P say they are starting on the next expansion? If they are discussing whether to add male viera or not, and are currently working on the next expansion, I guess this would be good news.

The Xaela seem to be based Mongolian tribes where the females are/were about 4'8-5'2, the Raen seem to be based on ancient Japan lifestyle, females there are also small and around the same height. It's not that the females are small. It's the fact the males are disgustingly tall. They have zero reason to be that tall.

Yeah. There's no justification for why male au ra are so tall. I don't think there needs to be a justification either. Same logic should apply to viera as well. If male viera happen to be shorter than female viera, no one here should be placed under scrutiny and made to justify why this is so. It just is. Not that I am happy that male au ra are so much bigger than the females or anything. I'm also not saying viera should have a massive height difference like au ra.

I love these concept pieces but just like the people wanting androgynous jungle warriors don't get your hopes too high. The concept art is always very different to the final version plus we may never get them in any form.

I would think they should be more focused on the current expansion at least for a whole year before they put to much effort into the next Expansion. But I guess who is to say they dont technically finish EVERYTHING by release then slowly unlock everything as they go, making patches along the way.
I do think Male Viera will be a thing, I can think of a good lore reason depending on where the 2nd arc of Shadowbringers goes.

I acknowledge it. I have no beef with you. I still maintain that it'd help dispel misconceptions if the original post was tweaked but I'm not going to push for it. My primary concern is that they're added at some point, ideally with a 'forest elf' aesthetic. I want the potential to make them masculine and at least somewhat buff above all else as that is where my interest resides. I just don't want a case where 'anything goes' and they end up vastly different to the women just for the sake of being vastly different.
