I'm looking to get into crafting. With the new changes is leveling all crafters still required?

My production macros for L 60 - 70 gear work just fine so far.

I haven't even looked at the macros I used for L70 4 star crafting.

They have made it easier by giving every class two important skills that used to be cross class.

You still want to get every class to 15 which is dead simple.

To get any craft to 15 just do every recipe once. The guild shop sells everything you need, except the cooking guild doesn't stock fish, you buy fish at the hyaline just off the aftcastle. The guild quests provide more than enough shards. Check with the local levemete before you dispose of the stuff you crafted, some of it will be levequest fodder.

Thanks so much! I might really get into crafting now, it seemed pretty relaxing but I couldn't stomach taking everything to cap when I'm only interested in like 3 or 4 classes.

Am I imagining things or did the turn in quests at the Crystarium give double exp for HQ turn ins before the update yesterday.

Is Waste Not actually a relevant skill again now that we have Preparatory Touch and Rapid Synthesis III?

The crafts don't feel harder right now but I do feel like there are ways to speed up the rotations using the new skills.

While I am a firm believer that there are no irrelevant skills ...

I don’t envision a time where I’ll want to use WN or WN2 instead of Manip2.

The big changes in the prelim patch notes:

• Byregot's Brow is gone

Definitely want Brow back. It's vastly superior to Blessing for single macro crafts, which are routinely used for easy crafts that don't stack Inner Quiet high enough for Blessing to be superior.

WN is better than manip2 now, and brow is mostly unnecessary, it'd only be useful in some cases for specialist macros because of the 100%. In single button macros we can easily get to IQ8+.
