This sounds like fun, where do i sign?instead of a war of attrition of raising your dead raid party, who were doing no dps, who then are in a weakened state and do far less damage making the fight take even longer and you basically just throw your bodies against the boss for an hour until the fanfare music plays.
Admittedly, I'd prefer to see at least a fair portion of fights where you're truly trying to outsmart the enemy (albeit with the benefit of having unlimited retries) instead of merely being forced to dance as s/he demands via stick (lethal AoEs) and carrot (the convenient hiding spots s/he also created), but ultimately there's a good reason for the increasing, rather than decreasing difficulty over the fight: it works. People tend to prefer to add on mechanic A, then B, then C, then D, then E, and then reprise A, B/C, D/E, etc., than have mechanics ABCDE all at once, or the ultimately hardest mechanic Z thrown at you right an the start, such that the rest just feels like laughable trickles of former difficulty that you need only survive the tedium of.
If you want to play classic for the challenge you're in for a rude awakening. Dungeon weren't especially challenging, they were just much much longer because you had to take your time killing adds in group of 2/3 and eat after each fight. When I'm looking for a challenge in an MMO I want boss with difficult patern, not spending 3 hours killing adds spaming the same couple of spells. And I think most people forgot how dated the boss encounter of vanilla / TBC are, they were fine for the time but compared to current wow or ff14 it's way too simplistic.
Also I can't comment on FF14 difficulty because I'm not max level yet but I wish the game had the equivalent of mythic+ dungeon, giving the opportunity for the players who prefer smaller group to get some challenge instead of just spamming AOE is one of the best feature in retail wow.

I really hate seeing this. The mythic+ system is garbage, but not for challenge reasons. The bosses become a near after thought, the trash becoming more threatening the higher you go up in level. Not to mention spam AOE and AOE CC (we barely have single target CC lmao) is mandatory except in cases you have to nuke a specific (trash)mob. It carries all the same problems dungeons have now except it's literally the core mechanic. Round up as much trash as the group can handle and spam AOE burst and CC, the bosses are nearly afterthoughts.

Then again, the last I pushed a key higher than 15 was in Legion, maybe it's changed in BFA but I doubt it.
I really wish instead of a timer we just make bosses in dungeons like in EX Trials and Savage Raids. There's better ways to do challenge dungeons than just slapping on a time limit or speed running an entire instance.
When I said I wanted M+ equivalent I didn't meant that I wanted a 1:1 of what we have in wow, just that every dungeon should have a difficulty that require everyone in the group to know their rotation and stay focused. I like the speed running aspect of M+ but adding a difficulty were boss have additionnal phase and better stat would be a huge step in the right direction, and I'm sure it'll be really popular.I really hate seeing this. You're working off outdated information. Two of the major affixes that swap every week are Tyrannical (bosses are buffed) and Fortified (trash is buffed). On Tyrannical week on high keys, yeah, the boss is far from an afterthought -- I've seen avoidable attacks one-shot players.I really hate seeing this. This community is alive and well and amazing.
Best of luck to you, OP, may WOW classic deliver everythi...ev....every... hahahaaha
Man I remember the first week when I had the displeasure of spending 20-25minutes on a single pull of Mr. Mathy and over 100 revives total due to half the alliance getting wiped out every spin/divebomb set. I was practically begging for him to do an enrage at some point, that pull was the epitome of anti-fun.
