They said that for the first dungeon since you won't have Thancred there would be a "Tank" Trust. Crystal Exarch can probably play all three roles and is here to fill the void.
They react and can be targeted by mechanics. They act on their own without needing an engage/disenage or special limit break command. They have unique personalities and some like Alisae will use the limit break right when it fills up and others will let the player do it if they are dps. There are a couple of videos on youtube.
Some examples seen were during the last boss of the 73 dungeon, when he causes the middle of the room to disappear and replaces it with what is effectively a tightrope. Thancred just jumps across, Minfilia ninja sprints along it, Alphinaud very carefully and slowly walks, and Urianger will use Aetherial Manipulation on the player once they get across. Ironically, trying that with a BLM causes you to fall in and die. They react and can be targeted by mechanics. They act on their own without needing an engage/disenage or special limit break command. During the live letter, Thancred also tried to vote kick Yoshida for inactivity.

White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
I feel the same way.... I usually always play with one friend in particular and we queue up to fill the gaps. It doesn't really matter since he plays tank and I play healer (usually) so our queues tend to be really fast but for those days we both want to go dps it would be nice. And anyway, I have a head cannon that he and I are both the "main characters" and the scions always ask us to help them out (rather than it just being me alone). I know it's dorky as hell but I'd squee so hard to be able to go into a dungeon with him and the scions, if only for my head cannon and immersion experience.I feel they missed the mark a bit with trusts. Mainly by making it an all or nothing thing. They should be allowed to be used in a partial group. 2 trusts/2 players, etc. Would also be nice to summon them in dungeons to replace a tank or healer that rage quits after the DPS sat through an hour long queue. Also need to be able to use them in older dungeons that are hard to find groups for. Definitely need to be usable in casterum/praetorium, as that would fix the whole cutscene mess with those 2 dungeons. I know they said they are considering older dungeons, so hopefully it happens.
I actually ASSUMED that it would work this way and was pretty heart broken when I found out it was all or nothing. Seems like such a strange decision to make but I'm GUESSING the reason they did this is to keep players actively queuing up for dungeons - I think MANY people have just two or three friends and need to fill the gaps. If they could just use trusts, it might bring down the active player base using duty finder. But I'm not even sure if that's the reasoning because realistically, I think most people would still prefer a fully human group due to the efficiency compared to the trusts. But who knows..

「Life is such a fragile thing…」
With these trusts working as they do, I wonder if GC Squadrons will get similar treatment to update their AI. Would also be nice if they got more job options as well, if an AI can handle AST then I'm sure one of the squadrons could too!
That's hilarious! I wonder if the others would potentially vote it down, or if it's just a clever version of the usual "you will be expelled from the duty if ten minutes have elapsed without input" thing.
So Thancred stays focused on the duty, Urianger burns the mobs and Alisaie actually uses Limit Break. That's a pretty good team.![]()

On one side I find this to be quite funny on the other side I wonder why they included that? I mean the trusts seems to take up 30 minutes of a dungeon and with a 60 minutes limit you cant just afk a long time anyway. (And then picture that the scions seemingly wanted to kick out their friend just because he needed some time)
I do love that they have different interactions and that every NPC is unique..but I also question why we needed such a complex system in a MMO..especially since its only for new dungeons..so much work and time being put behind that.
