Oh thank goodness I'm not alone I had to make a double take on that picture when I first saw it. I do believe it's mostly the neck like Allegor said. It's more common to see broad, more "triangular" trapezius muscles on men and male characters.

Not to knock on the artwork of course. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Hi ! I've been reading this thread for a long time now and I wanted to post finally to show my support because I really want male viera too (Even if I don't know if I could say goodbye to my little catboy haha but I hope I'll have the choice !)

When this was posted on reddit quite a few people said: Well that looks a bit masculine for a woman. I do think its just the artstyle but I agree, the upper body does look more like a man, especially if you compare it to the male cat next to it.

I wouldn't really say that. Some outfits are tailored to the male form, and some outfits are tailored to the female form. I'm not saying people can't wear whatever they want, but some outfits tend to look better on certain forms. At the end of the day, people can and should wear whatever they want, but the designer/dev team should create an outfit they feel will best fit male viera if they are ever added. I would not mind if the males had a less revealing racial set, but I also would not be bothered if it was revealing. I will be happy with any racial gear that follows the theme of that race.

The outfits themselves don't fit any form better or worse, it's how they are made. A dress for a male body will fit extremely well on them, same for a suit for woman.
I really hope SE dosen't pull a TERA on this one, and gives the males an equally revealing outfit. I don't care what the otfit is, but some ppl say a loincloth would be cool, which im not oposed to at all

However, given that the devs through in those coliseum sets, and some other seasonal event gear, I somehow doubt that they have a problem with men getting revealing outfits.

I think you need to look up SE's history they are not scared of sexy men in the slightest, its actually the western world that is, because this game is marketed worldwide they go with design restrictions that would cause the least outrage as possible over here, it was why Yoshi P was hesitant on same sex eternal bonding, why it has taken until now for him to mention possibly removing gender lock restrictions on certain clothing apparently the eternal bonding dress may be worn by males and the suit for females in the future which is amazing if becomes true.

Culture changes over time it is never immediate so as we(as many countries as possible) become more accepting of everything the more your likely to see industries adjusting to the new social norm.

About the outfit, I would really like a set as revealing as female. But well... let's said I'm used to the fact it's not always the case, haha ! I just hope they will go with something similar and not make a set with full pants and thing like that, it woud be such a shame I think.
But in worst case scenario we do have a lot of revealing set so in the end of the day if we want them to show their skin we can. So at least I hope the racial gear will be visually cool no matter what they decide ^^

I can't imagine the males having something similar to Fran. But if they do, the butt probably isn't going to be shown. I'm not so much for the outfits to be super revealing, at least not on the bottom half. Eh, doubt it matters anywho - I wouldn't be wearing the glamour.
