That's fair. I don't play AST enough to really voice why I dislike the card change too, but I agree with some AST mains who argue against the changes that it's far less interesting. And that, I feel, is the wrong direction to take things in.
He says he can't make a judgment until raids... Ok. Does that mean he's going to be soloing his WHM/healers up through main story? Or is he going to do that with Monk and play WHM strictly in dungeons? I can guarentee you that playing it strictly in dungeons is far different than slogging through the quests, spamming stone IV 800,000 times (exaggerated) in solo duties, etc. If I am going to be leveling WHM, that is how I would be doing it. So naturally, I may be looking at things from a different perspective while he is only looking at the main attractions. As a WHM main, I know that I don't need the 2 new heals we got. I use Plenary Indulgence enough to know that I will find it a lot more useful in its current version than in it's ShB version simply because I can build my confessions and pop them off the global cooldown while I'm avoiding a mechanic after an AoE, etc.
I also know that I will rarely, if ever be using Misery in an AoE situation, so why it's AoE boggles me. Furthermore, the reason WHM was left out of raiding in Stormblood-- the lack of rDPS increase buffs or equivalent pDPS-- really hasn't been addressed. SCH and AST have been nerfed and I feel that was the wrong thing to do. Will WHM pDPS be enough now? Dunno. Raids may tell that story, but the changes to the jobs I don't need to wait until raids to know I dislike. Perhaps Happy isn't as attached to the jobs or the role of healer to really care about the things I do care about and perhaps we need someone who does to adequately represent us.
I do find it ironic though that they said on SotR "subject to change" on the healer tooltips, then talked about how Ninja's Meisui was a DPS loss without mentioning that Misery is a DPS loss too though. Guess they find Ninja more interesting.
