For the ones that actually main healer at least, I want to know if they've actually played a triage/long term resource management healing paradigm MMO. If they haven't, I have a suspicion they might not like what a game that requires "pure" healers demands of the healer.
If they HAVE, I have to ask why they can't perceive either the clear difference in fight design between the two games, or notice the development team's inertia on ever moving out of the current design paradigm on healing.
I've mained healers in other MMOs, yes. This has been the most dps-focused of the bunch, and it took some adjustment. The other type of healing is fun, too, but what we're looking at here is the worst of both worlds--the lack of constant engagement from healing and the lack of engaging damage rotations. For the ones that actually main healer at least, I want to know if they've actually played a triage/long term resource management healing paradigm MMO. For example, I was really excited to see a couple of my favorite DPS classes (and tanks) got more interesting AoE combos. This was something I was really hoping to see in healers, maybe bringing WHM and AST closer to SCH. Instead, everyone gets the AST kit, and even typing that makes me want to take a nap.
I made a mistake. I created that thread, hit Go then remembered about this forum. Alas, there's no way to delete it and I'll just get banned if I ping a mod, so, RIP.
So basically they've made the job worse for the sake of simplicity and homogeneization, great job SE another MMO from which we're are reciving a lot of refugees did the same and you can see how it ended.
Sad thing i bet people still had a hard time clearing it even though they nerfed it to the ground, granted best part would be if they failed because of the DPS check despite everyone being alive.
It's a stupid process but there is not way to delete a thread other than to edit it, remove everything, report it yourself (say posted wrong forum or w/e).
I've had to do that to a few threads and never got banned.
Although it is pretty funny / sad / telling looking at the difference in responses between the General Thread and this one. I have no idea why, but the general playerbase has some very negative feelings for healers.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
The first step would still be to give SCH some sort of energy drain back.
I was thinking about it doing damage and only giving mp since the hp recovery was not really useful either way. Which would make it an mp management tool which is never useless.
They want to seperate it from smn still, but like i said somewhere before...
Energy drain is important to scholars, you just need to know how scholar works to instantly notice that it being gone... is not a good thing.
And honestly, if people should scream about 1 thing first, it's Energy drain.
Discipline priest says hi, and that isn't listing quite the few which are more dps focused than FF is, but carry on. I'd say it more comes down to how trivial FF healing really is at its core due to the slower GCD's, smaller raid groups and how DoT's work to name a few things.I've mained healers in other MMOs, yes. As a Scholar main from 2.0, we were never a pure healer when played at the skill floor, but a very potent healer when played at the skill ceiling, honestly I'd prefer to have a toolkit like that over the current one. FF needs less healing tools to make it more difficult tbh, not more. Healing is going to be the easy job this expansion, as if it wasn't already going that way in SB as it was.
