    A high performing DPS vastly out DPSes a healer; a healer may do a quarter of their damage, at best. Times two - in the grand scheme of things, yes, the DPS are already doing all of the work of damage because that's what their role is.
    Yeah, expert dungeons can be done with a healer - when you're geared well and know your class and know what is coming up and how much you need to space your recoveries. However, any willy-nilly match made party probably still needs that healer, even if they aren't DPSing. Half of a healer's kit is DPS, true, but if they had none, what would they do for solo instances and no NPCs are in there with them that actually damage? What about open world as chocobos don't exactly have the best of enmity generation or DPS. This game doesn't have heal bombing on undead. A PLD cannot just Flash spam and AFK - they run out of MP eventually. As it is, a majority of melee I see in roulettes don't AoE, even when called out - they are legitimately not doing their jobs.

    As it were, healers were able to do as much damage as they do in this expansion due to the loss of accuracy. Before, it was a decision of meld to make all of your attacks hit, but weaken your heals? Or meld for stronger heals, but miss a varying amount of spells in which there is MP waste?
