    Yes.

    Oh sure, the devs could create other options and other possibilities but the odds of that happening, especially in the short term, are practically zero. They'd have to redesign every dungeon, fight, and all three healers practically from the ground up to make it happen.

    Don't get me wrong, I would love to see more support options and a move towards DPS not being the default downtime activity. I just don't see it ever happening given the current game design.

    I have every job leveled to 70. I'm playing 6 of them regularly (RDM, SMN, WHM, SCH, BLM, DRK) and i really wish they would both rework the encounter and healer design so I actually get to heal when i decide to play White Mage or Scholar. Currently I'm spamming the brain dead dps rotation most of the time for the sole reason that there is nothing else to do because almost all content in this game requires little healing. You can finish almost all content without ever using a global cooldown healing spell. With having every job on one character the game encourages you to play different classes and if i want to play a damager I have the choice between 10 classes to do so. I don't need healers to be poor man damager. They will never have a damage rotation which is even close to the complexity and fun of real damager classes. I wish healers in this game had mana managment, so healing would require some thought and not just spamming available OGC spells. To summarize it. I would like them to change their encounter design, so everything in this game hits harder and forces us to heal, remove some OGC spells so we actually have to use global cooldown heals and give us some decision making which healing spells we use by limiting the mana we have/making healing spells cost more mana.

    Aero III is my Bread n Butter AND JAM as a WHM ... >,> So, I have opinions about these ... changes.
    IMO DoT is perfect. Especially in the higher end fights I can keep my focus on healing,
    But then I throw down an Aero III when I have a spare moment and I know that DoT is giving me DPS concurrently while I keep healing.
    In lower end fights if there's more time I can throw down a bunch of Stone IV's.

    I guess now I just throw down the odd Stone IV no matter the scenario? ...

    ... There's healers who don't DPS? x___x

    Really, I say this tongue-in-cheek. There's usually an easy-to-follow rhythm during pulls, and something happens suddenly to throw off that rhythm, and that's when mistakes are made.

    As for the topic: I'm waiting with bated breath. WHM looks great. I'm not too attached to Aero III. SCH still seems to keep its rhythm of weaving oGCDs (we just have fewer to weave now). AST giving out more single target cards might make it more fun for me.

    lmao.. hard? Not even close X_x If anything, healing in this game is too easy, which is why we end up DPSing. There's often times when there is nothing to heal. Even in raids X_x

    But healers didn't lose the ability to DPS. Their rotation just got simplifyed, just like DPS/Tank rotations got simplifyed as well thanks to some OGCD's stacking, giving a lot of breath.

    I guess they did it to close the gap between newbies and veteran players, just like they did with PVP.

    In the case of SCH, having their DPS abilities taken away from them is easily viewed as punishment for using them in the first place, especially when Yoshi-P makes statements like those from his GoldenTate interview (specifically, that they don't try to take things away from jobs or even restrict their abilities because they don't want to punish the players; and yet, this is happening to healers, hardcore).
    Simplification is one thing, but complete removal of tools and limiting abilities in order to dumb down a role that is already singular in it's basic pathology is another.
