I know this might enrage a few people here, but so far, whenever a run is going bad, or the healer behaves strangely, or the tank does stop every 2 meters for 10 seconds - I press "O" - the party window - and see "F", "F" and "F". It became a meme, a running gag that is true in 9 out of 10 cases...

French players being a very weird species. In ever game. 2007, when I played MapleStory, the French ones were outright irritating. In League of Legends, don't ask. I know what "FDP" and "TG" means now and also how it's pronounced...
In FF14 however, despite the "What is this guy even trying" person you might encounter, I had a bunch speaking English despite not having "E" ticked in their profile. They listened, they learned and... they improved!

My fellow countrymen, the Germans, well, they tend to suddenly start to speak German when they notice they are in majority. That is absolutely awful for the one or two left and is equally anti-social.

I know how you feel though. I changed at least servers (Lich -> Shiva -> Ultros [Woops, U.S. server with timezone issues!] -> Zodiark) but until I found the greatest (in my opinion^^), Zodiark, it cost me lots of nerves and some money.

Some servers do have a bad vibe indeed...
So you might try changing servers instead of the whole datacentre.

French is not the only language where FDP stands for an insult. If I'm not mistaken Portuguese means the exact same with the same first letters.
The meme extends to German players as well for some reason. the 5 nationalities that are generalized into being bad are usually French, German, Spanish, Brazilian and Russian. at least from what i can see on the internet.
Also there are French players scattered across every server so changing DC will allow the OP to avoid them if that's what you're aiming for. Lastly this is not a thread to bash the French. I don't understand the point of your first paragraph.

As much as I have anedotal evidence most of my bad experiences come from players from Zodiark and Cerberus. Probably because I have an higher tolerance to bad play over bad atitude. I can help fix bad play. I can't help fix bad atitude.

I doubt Portuguese players tick "F" in the profile and continue with French.

Also, the first paragraph is pretty straight forward and self-explaining. See, I can't understand your last paragraph, as it as much of an anecdote as my first paragraph. Feel free to disagree, but you can't change my experiences and those of my fellows who says the very same. That is still not a "bash the French" thread, and it never was. I even added an example that even the players known for refusing to speak English can do in rare occassions.

But then I am not here to hold back my 12 years of online game experience just to avoid some "Whataboutism" from people like you with your between-the-lines sort of snark.

I'm a USA player on a NA server, so I don't think I fully understand how things work on the EU side. I find it strange that you think a French player should speak English. If I was dealing with French players, my expectation would be that they will speak French and if I encountered them a lot, I would try to learn some French so I could talk to them. I would also try to make extensive use of the auto-translate feature.

I've met a few French players on my server and they all speak English, but I think they're probably an exception to the rule. I doubt a French player would choose to play on an NA server if they couldn't or didn't want to speak English, since most of the NA players are native English speakers.
