Continue to be the best healer in the game but be bored to tears while doing so.

In a fast-paced, damage-heavy game, 'not dying' would be its own reward. Neither of those things describe FFXIV though, so I guess... maybe SCH can solo heal most if not all 8-mans now? I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

We will have to see what kind of damage comes with the new content, but if I'm looking exclusively at the healing kit, SCH is really strong. And without Energy Drain, and with Dissipation, I would say that SCH will have a lot of aetherflow stacks to dump in heals. So, maybe solo heal meta isn't that far fetched.

One point I've been trying to express on multiple platforms is that even if the changes play-and-feel good when Shadowbringers release, there is little to no "hype" for the healer roles prior to the expansion. This by itself is a failure of SE.

I've bought my copy of ShB. I'll play it. I'll even probably continue healing it. But I cannot say I'm excited for the expansion.

Aww thx Haha yeah I'm a PLD main (sucker for the whole holy warrior jive) have been since HW. But I always keep at least one of every role maxed and my healer role has always been WHM simply because they don't have to shuffle cards around or manage a pet :3 if sch pet is gonna be fully independent, that speaks my interest considerably!

No offense, but such blind-faith support and attitudes like this are the reason WHY they don't care about healers. If SE knows we'll take it, then this is what they're going to keep doing to our jobs every chance they get.

It seems like it's time for Sacred Soil to shine. It was probably one of the least used parts of the toolkit for many Scholars including myself but now that we don't have energy drain and still want to avoid over healing it will definitely be the safe option in the lower level content before the Regen Trait kicks in. The fact it always had a chance to grant a MP free Succor made it seem like the devs thought we would be using it more and now we are kind of forced to if we want to dump stacks. I think the only way to truly cement it as part of the Scholars arsenal though is to give the mp gain we lost in Energy Drain to Sacred Soil. Getting that refresh would definitely make it a core part of our gameplay.
