Nah fam. Healing's boring now. Gonna DPS.
They homogenised Scholar's healing already, the DPS was still interesting and they've just homogenised that into something less enjoyable. We're all practically White Mages now and White Mages have complained about their state of play for ages. White Mage needed fixing, not for the other jobs to be broken.
I played DPS more in Stormblood, whereas I was a Scholar main in 2.0 and HW. I'll probably be a Dancer main in Shadowbringers if it's any good, because it appeals to my supportiness and looks like it might be fun to play. I've seen a number of other healers talking about playing something else or boycotting healer roles. So to answer the OP's question, "what does a SCH do now with no DPS options", they main a DPS and laugh if people have to wait for healers or if the pool of experienced healers drops.
And I'd not mind the loss or homogenisation of DPS so much if the healing itself wasn't already homogenised (I liked that SCH wasn't great with pure heals and that it felt very different to heal as a result versus WHM).
