    Why not cap it at 5? Make it so the hypercharge effect immediately ends when your 5th GCD is cast, cutting off the potential for a ping-based sixth Heat Blast inside the burst window. High ping players could do the 5 GCD variation on SB MCH.

    In Stormblood, rapidfire and overheat should have been consolidated into one effect (meaning overheating would give you the GCD speed boost for 3 weaponskills as well as a damage buff). They could have then applied a 5 GCD cap to both wildfire and overheat. On your 5th GCD both of these effects ends

    (It could theoretically be capped to 6, or any number of GCDs if they increase the duration to accommodate high ping players.) This is the only way I could think of rectifying the problem without altering the speed of the class or doing some funky things with the combat animations. When I consider that SE didn't put their one N.A. server in a central location on a landmass as big as the U.S., the ping concerns are justified.
