I know this is double posting and all, but I'm currently unable to edit and I don't see a reason to wait until I get to my house (which will take a long time) to ask this, so:

Has there been any questions regarding male viera and female hrotgar, or the new races in general on the media tour?

Not that I've seen although I haven't read all of them. Media Tour is still too early after JP Fan Fest and especially after the Live Letter so any response we got on the topic would be the same as in the LL.

There's likely nothing about them in the media tour because they're irrelevant to Shadowbringers launch. We know they're not arriving with 5.0 - and the people expecting every new interview to mention them are setting themselves up for disappointment.

Yoshi-P has already made an official statement on the matter. They're simply not a priority for now. When the expansion has launched and the development team has a bit more breathing room, they may begin development on them. Yet even then, it isn't guaranteed.

If we get them, we get them. If we don't, we don't.

We know they aren't arriving at 5.0, but we also know there's a possibility they come at 5.x-6.0 (althoug 5.x is quite unlikely) and I think people might have been instructed not to ask this questions. I expect that on interviews after the launch of shadowbringers the question will get asked a decent bit

There's no questions because they've made their point pretty clear I think, it was pretty much as was rationally expected. Not many interviews after initial response and most likely a lot of fan questions, the issue really is whether the dev team has the desire to fix issues they seem to be having with gear. I think there's a good chance of this happening SOMEWHERE down the line if their vision of "Perfecting" what they already have includes updating systems, of course it could be the counter that fixing the issue with gear might just be out of the realm of what they can do with a 2nd generation MMO and might have to wait for a 3rd generation MMO instead.

That being said I think the chance of them releasing in 5.x is really really generous, that would imply they've solved this issue by the time the expansion has launched and it's cut down on race development time by something of upwards to 9 or 10 months. I think 6.0 is more reasonable if they fix this issue mid 5.x like 5.3/5.2 and it can cut down on 6 months of development because of this.

Yeah, I had read somewhere about that too, that's why I got really sad when they did not announce the male...
Also, had read that their Project for XIV was sure til 7.0
And that make my heart go thin, as it is a wink to reach there. I'm starting to think that if we get male viera, it will be on the next game... which I do hope is not MOBA or a Battle Royale.

That sounds terrible. So, the next MMO is gonna be some casual trash (literally) that you can hop in and hop out, because apparently players nowadays don't have the attention span to play something like FFXIV or WoW? This is laughable, and sad, and scary at the same time.

Actually, I think Yoshida is flat out WRONG here. I think the reason there is player drop off is because there hasn't been a compelling game in this format for a very long time. I do NOT think players are to blame here. I find it extremely annoying that developers continue to blame the players for their own mistakes when it comes to their games. Look at WoW classic, and look at the massive popularity it is creating. I can't believe the genre I love is going to be ruined, because publishers want to cash in on trash like fortnite or garbage MOBAs.

What, the idea of a bunch of cat boys and girls running around trying to fire blast each other off stages for all of the games life span isn't riveting and exciting to you? Churro, I thought we were more alike than that.

Agreed, it's really not promising stuff, but at the same time it could mean they're not just going to abandon this game when the new MMO comes round, especially if it's still making decent money.

It depends - demand for this type of MMO isn't going to vanish. As long as it's generating enough revenue to keep being profitable - something which an investment like a graphics upgrade could deliver, if timed and implemented properly - I reckon they could squeeze at least another 2 expansions out of it at current or higher sub levels. The issue is more with mentality, in that some devs let their games stagnate because they claim the demand isn't there, when in reality it's more that they've grown complacent and after several years their players have grown a little bored of the same old, same old.

I don't a while back all I was seeing is people griping that stuff wasn't being handed to them.
unlike players who want to earn it people want easy routes and say why is relics hidden behind this or why do I have to fight monsters so I can get that mount, I remember people coming in here and going against them saying stop asking for hand outs.

I can handle stuff like FFXI and hard stuff but some people just want it easy and don't want to try while others work hard others say nerf nerf.

I remember this cause my cousin was temp banned for telling some guy to work for it instead of asking SE to hand out stuff for free accept the way its made.

I am not kidding either lol
