Autism and cancer are serious illnesses. Who ever use them as a fashionable way to express their displease should be ask for help. No excuse to stigmatize an illness or the people who suffering from this. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I curse myself a lot but this is just disrespectful and disgusting. This is my opinion.
I don't get getting so easily offended over words online. I've seen far worse than "cancer" or "autism" used and it didn't bother me in the slightest. So, I really just have a hard time relating, sorry. > w <;
It has nothing to do with "getting offended". Cancer is a serious illness which can kill people in a cruel way. And some people use an Illness as a term for "bad or dumb" people or bad/dumb behavior ? Please do not answer this question. I am afraid of the answer.
When I saw that we were going from Broil III at 290 potency in ShB to Broil IV at 295 potency in EW, I was shaking with how excited I was. I couldn't believe they were so generous with a whole 5 potency. I'm going to probably scream in excitement when 7.0 comes out and Broil V hits 300 potency, playing SCH going to be WILD once it hits 300!!!
I'm pretty sure it has everything to do with getting offended. If no one was offended, no one would care enough to even bring it up in the first place. Also, isn't the term "cancer" used in such contexts to imply something is a spreading force of self destruction? Cancer is something negative, so it's not really that surprising to see it attributed to other implied negative things that are (supposedly) self destructive to what it is a part of.
Right now they feel comfortable using jokes to dismiss the real importance of both conditions, what if later escalates to some sort of violence or any other criminal activity against persons with autism and cancer?I don't know how that's possible when everyone claims to have thick skin and just shrug things off. There's more people saying "eh I don't care say whatever you want even if it's a slur as long as it's not at me" than people 'getting offended'. I think it would be more accurate to say people in NA are more prone to arguing and provoking people. Things like memes or the odd harmless joke are fine, but I personally find it hard to laugh or shrug off hateful language or other such things. There's a clear distinct difference. Some people just refuse to see it.
Imagine you being treated at the HP and one of those enter and start to harass you in the HP or any other public place just because you are going into treatment for any of the conditions or both.
That's what they did in WW2 they did dismiss the importance of such conditions to detach themselves from it and be able to study using humans as test subjects without any ethic or morals.

Once again, the term 'cancer' or 'cancerous' has been used in this way, as a metaphor for really bad, destructive, insidious and malignant things, for a very long time. It is not a new, internet based phenomenon, there is nothing at all offensive about it being used in this way, and there is absolutely no way its use will ever translate into violence against cancer sufferers.
Please stop conflating it with the use of autism in this way, you're only showing how naive you are.
Doesn't matter how many mutters they give.Right now they feel comfortable using jokes to dismiss the real importance of both conditions, what if later escalates to some sort of violence or any other criminal activity against persons with autism and cancer?

The reality and the facts are written here unfortunately won't change the past and in WW2 that's exactly what they did in order to conduct experiments on humans they had to detach themselves from that reality and find a path so the society would accept and look at those crimes as normal.
So let them joke about illness or other conditions all they want the moment they cross the virtual line to reality with that behavior their freedom of speech ends and I won't answer for my actions.
