I have played a bit of WoW, due to the better PvP there, but I have played years more FF14, and I'd say that excluding trade chat, WoW is actually pretty chill and not all that toxic.

I played WoW from Classic up to Legion.

From my personal experience, the feast before they removed the chat, ARR Titan HM before they fixed the latency (I was told to kill myself and uninstall the game back then, which nobody in WoW has ever told me), Rust, Overwatch, and even Runescape has been more toxic for me than WoW.
Honestly, what I have experienced in WoW is nothing compared to the Rust community. Part of the reason why I like Rust, it's unique in how toxic it is, I can only handle it in small amounts though.
