I have seen OP around. He has an atagonist RP character. He was likely reported for something in character or, OP took his role too seriously and gave into the infamous OOC/IC bleed.Honestly offensive language can be so different for everyone. Someone could say "I don't like Lalafells" and a fellow players report them as harassment. An extreme example but it wouldn't shock me these days. I do agree it is silly to say "Don't use bad language" but then not elaborate on what exactly was said. If you were cursing or using foul language then obviously you have an idea of what the issue is but if not, then its a total guessing game.
Their ToS covers this as well:Actually no. when the new rules were introduced, nobody agreed to them. They were just done forcefully. You could argue that they have the right to change the rules when they want, but they would have to come up with another agreement upon login into the game in that case. because the rules we agreed to prior was different from the rules we have now.

edit: I actually hit the post limit! HAH! It's been ages since that happened. So to the comment a few posts down:
We all accepted the TOS when we first started playing the game. Also, they did provide notification on their website as well as the launcher. I can't recall if an email went out as well, but it's possible. This goes to what I was saying earlier, as long as you are not forced to click agree, then you're not actually agreeing to it. It says "you may terminate" but does not say "you must terminate" therefore you are given the option to continue playing while not agreeing. Again when mentioning that your continued use means you agree doesn't hold up either because if you havent received an email or read the post on the website then you're not informed of any change to the rules. The rule changes don't hold up.

I mean you said it to the GM yourself. “You have a hunch what this is about” implying you made some dark jokes. That’s what your supposed to do, look back over yourself and check yourself,
you’re not a child, you’re responsible for your actions and remembering said actions. And maybe try to look at your actions through the lens of someone else who may have found it offensive.
And keep in mind, they can’t just tell you exactly what you said cause that would give you a clue to who reported you like when and where and to whom you said things, now a GM giving out information that would allow a reported player to go back and attack who reported you is bad and they simply can’t do that. And if that isn’t clear to you why they can’t, then I really don’t know what to say.
"A heartbeat without harmony
Is moonlight without dark"
What is the point of the language filter then?
This is a scary trend we're seeing with private corporations and these 'make things up as we go' rules that you have absolutely no recourse against. The OP doesn't even have somewhere that he can escalate - the GM told him to take it to the official forums... for what? What's the point of bringing it here? It's not like there's anyone from SE actually reading these threads. They barely lift a finger unless there's a substantial amount of reports on a post and even then their power is limited to cleanup here on the forums. They have absolutely no authority over in-game complaints.
OP - I don't know what to tell you. SE doesn't care about you or letting you know what you did wrong or anything, really. either keep giving them money and clean up your general interactions, or move along. You don't have any recourse here, really.

Starting the game for the first time is the Agree button. This goes to what I was saying earlier, as long as you are not forced to click agree, then you're not actually agreeing to it. And good luck proving that it's their fault you didn't get informed of the changes. People not reading news/patch notes/important info on the Lodestone can't be legally used as a defense. Same as "I didn't open the letter so I didn't know I had to pay the bills."
not if the person reported used common sense and blacklisted.I mean you said it to the GM yourself. “You have a hunch what this is about” implying you made some dark jokes. That’s what your supposed to do, look back over yourself and check yourself,

also if you play for 9 hours you coulda said a random amount of things that could viewed as offensive lol.
And look through others eyes might have worked in 2006 or earlier but today it doesn't because people are offended over dumb things any more.
if your being offend by others 2 start with thats your own personal proplem when a system is in the fame you can protect yourself with Called BLACKLIST....
Starting the game for the first time prior to the rules was the original agreement because it was presented to you back then. It's not now presenting the new changes so you have not agreed to the new changes. Same as "the lawyer I hired wanted to raise his hourly rate of pay but I didn't agree to it"Starting the game for the first time is the Agree button.

The argument is simple, all they have to do is make u agree to it before being able to enter the game.
Except it says that if you continue playing, you're expressing that you agree with the new rules. You were informed of that upon the first time you started playing and you agreed to that. Can't go back on your word now.Starting the game for the first time prior to the rules was the original agreement because it was presented to you back then. Except that it contradicts what it says that if disagree you may terminate but doesnt say you must. So it means you can disagree and continue playing. I was only informed of the old rules and agreed to those old rules but not the new rules. So theres nothing else that can be done unless I am forced to click agree.
I respect that you are trying to explain your viewpoint of the rules to me but there is nothing solid here to make me side with your argument. I can agree to disagree for now.
