    I've been jailed twice.

Still no ban, both were just warnings.

First time they said I was being racist and it happened after one day I said a joke about being happy that moogle(French server) no longer in our DC after a Mhach run.
"You can see there's no moogle since we didn't fail ozma kappa" <- What I wrote.
Second time I was being offensive in public happened after 10 people from a certain FC in Odin attacked me in say chat and all I wrote was asking if they were aware of how ridiculous they were in front of everyone else and mass of sheep as they were attacking me on unfounded voice of a certain psycho girl that asked them to, accusing me of stalking/rmt/defamation and so forth. Which was also the only public thing i said since that Mhach run as I was rather careful to not write anything and that happened after few days anyway.

I'm the first to white knight SE, it does a good job but certain bans and answers are straight up bot-like with no shred of humanity of understanding circumstances. Abiding to a ToS is fine, but taking it and applying to the slightest joke or in case of self-defense from a mass it's really sad. One may say "black list and move on" - "Don't get triggered like a kid", I would answer that it is sad that nowaday in order to "not have your gameplay ruined" by ill people you have to be hollow and emotionless as much as you can. I login to have a great time with friends, make a joke with matchmaking peoples, clear savage (though i skipped omega 5/12 as i just came back a month ago from army and needed time to get back "in-shape" and gear), but in a very sad way, more than often I see that in order to avoid any possible report that's applied with no matter of what really happened aside the chat log that can be.. sort of subjective as that could be two friends calling bitch to each other *And yes i know someone who got banned from this for 3 day*, just a joke (depending on the gravity oof, no jokerino on mass genocides and similia) or other situations that safe to assume they'rent ill spirited.

Just my two cents. (Sorry for the errors english is my fourth language)

"Offensive" can be everything nowadays. Just yesterday I was in a Castrum Run with a cool and impressive-looking male Au'ra tank. I complimented on his look and that I prefer it much more when people dress like their role instead of "bikini tanks and underwear hearlers".

Suddenly, three (!) people from that group jumped on me in an absolutely baffling manner, which boils down to: "You should not say that because I could upset potential bikini tanks and underwear healers". Mind that this shortened version was the quintessence of 3 female Miquo'te tried to talk me down for a compliment I gave to a specific person. I just asked why they are so triggered now and was so close to ask if this is a kindergarden TV show where we all hug each other and Barny the Dinosaur comes around the corner - or communism, we are all equal, nobody can shine.

Both is an absolute reasonable way to respond - but I am sure these weird SJW kind of dudettes that stand in for people that are not even in that group (nobody was in a bikini nor undies) would want me to get mad and say more things that can be considered "disruptive". And from that point on, it's like rolling dice if you are punished or not. And that again is an awkward feeling. OP was absolutely right by not talking anymore. I stopped to talk to these, I had several fruitless attempts to talk to feminists and such people, and I just kept it silent --- just because I said that Au'Ra was a pretty awesome tank... Think about it.

I am strongly against this "offensive talk" bullocks. Only industrial nations and their lazy and overfed citizens with no actual problems think a few words are worth making fuzz about.

    Sincerely,

    Au Ra has no apostrophe.
    I hope I don’t offend you.

    Sincerely,

I have a feeling they may have just been teasing you. I know I probably would have had a similar retort if someone was going on about people dressing properly. Although, when people are so quick to brush people of as SJWs and feminists, it does make me wonder if they aren't the one who is easily triggered.

But anyway, people can report for anything they like, but that doesn't necessarily mean that anything will come of it. All of these comments along the lines of "I'm scared to talk to anyone" make me really curious.

Honestly, this thread is rather pointless.

I received a warning for "Offensive Language" as well, I still don't know what it was about. No one ever told me why, I pestered support for a while trying to get an answer as to why did I get one, I don't care it's there, just tell me what I did so I can NOT do it again.

Nope, never got an actual response as to what was considered offensive. I gave up eventually and nowadays I keep my chat hidden all the time minus when doing Savage content because there it's needed. Even then I only explain mechanics and tactics if nobody else knows them.

And even when I do have to speak to people, I spend the next week pretty much looking over my shoulder and wondering if I said something that the GMs can deem offensive and potentially ban me over it.

In 10 years of playing MMOs, I've never actually met GM's, no reason to. I've been on FF14 since 2016 and never had any encounter with GM's... until 2 weeks ago.

Edit: You will never receive an answer OP, best option is to just hide the chat so you don't have to look over your shoulder constantly.

In the context of the game, we all signed up to play a game in SE's world, and we signed off on their rules. If you can't abide by the rules, prepare yourself for more reports, or perhaps find a game with more relaxed rules to enjoy your time in.
Actually no. when the new rules were introduced, nobody agreed to them. They were just done forcefully. You could argue that they have the right to change the rules when they want, but they would have to come up with another agreement upon login into the game in that case. because the rules we agreed to prior was different from the rules we have now.

Well by continuing to play the game (and paying sub) you are agreeing to the new rules. It's like if a phone company or bank sends you updates to your ToS, it'll say something along the lines of -if you are happy with the new changes, you don't need to do anything, but contact us within X period of time if you do not agree with them- etc, you get the idea. Pretty much the same thing with the SE changes, you either accept them and go on as you were or unsub as the situation is no longer how you like it to be.

This goes for the forums too. Don't say any profanity, don't even elude to it, they will drop the hammer down on you, hard.
Lengthy thread and its probably been addressed, but as someone who RPs general buttholes, I keep the worst of it out of the major public. Or on discord.

I want my sexist, racist xenophobe lizard to interract. But I know someone whos not been to the steppes will see it and cry tears of black acid at the mere sight.
