I think that male viera will be male au ra but with their body made to fir that of the viera race, mostly because Matsuno liked a tweet by hopefulviera of a modified male au ra to look like a male viera. Then, I also think that it's very likely SE has plans for male viera, that is due to how they placed the female icon on viera (why would they leave space if they aren't gonna make it anyways?) and mostly due to Matsuno literally asking for male viera on a female viera drawing, plus liking many tweets that talk about male viera in XIV, and I'm quite sure that if they weren't coming he would have been instructed no to say anything
