Yeah, I'm agree with this, just was ironic about the fact that I often heard "we have enough short males" when it's actually not like this - we just have a lot of tall males which make average height look like it's short when it's not. As for mViera, I definitely can imagine them in same gap as fVieras so they still will be tall enough but also not gigantic. Having a huuuge gap as in your suggestion will probably be the win-win option but that's about 50cm.. even fRoes, who have biggest gap among all races and genders, have only 30 cm of difference in their min and max height. Not sure if we can get something like this for them, too. Would be cool.

Aside from this, if there is very empty gap, it will be the one between Lalas and Au Ra/Miqo'te (depending on gender). But this one probably gonna stay empty for an eternity.

Oh I agree that there aren't that many genuinely short races. I think the issue which came up a lot was whether you could design softer males, and you can with Miqo'te, Midlanders and Elezen, so that's more so the area where I don't consider there to be a lack of options, although more customisation being opened up in that regard would be a good thing - hence why I'm eager to see it introduced. Although more because I like buffer options, myself, but it'd go both ways.

In terms of a shorter race, they've just ruled out child races. Something like the XII moogles, or Nu mou (just not a beast tribe) could still come to inhabit that area... if they ever add another race.

As for the slider differential, I think they could probably get away with something like 35cm. Say they kept them at Highlander height, i.e. 200cm, you'd then get a minimum of 165cm. Not sure how easy it'd be, but since it is feasible with as big a difference as 30cm for Roe females, I'm wondering if they could do something like 40cm for the male Viera, in which case you could see something like 165-205cm.

I'm not keen on it myself, but it'd appease those who want the ability to make shorter variants, and when you consider that human males tend to have fatter tail ends in their height bell curve distributions for evolutionary reasons, it'd make sense, especially for a race like Viera, prone to even greater extremes, where the males lead pretty solitary existences as hunters. So I'd take it as a compromise to avoid their max height being capped below the females'.
