Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

It obviously matters to people how their character looks and character races are pretty definitive of these. Or maybe they shouldn't have added fViera or mHrothgar since it doesn't matter and these are trivial features... even though they're hoping that they will prove popular enough to result in increased profits? Which is it?

The problem with this line of thought is also that quitting over the missing gender not being added is not necessarily solely due to that. It can be out of a dislike of gender-locks in principle, due to an accretion of different issues (including the aforementioned) leading to dissatisfaction with the game, and so on.

From what I've been seeing, ppl want to leave because of lack of male viera lone. If you don't like the dungeon offering or the raid scene or the update cycle, those could be understandable reasons to quit. Saying you're doing it because of the genderlock alone tells me nothing else in the game mattered as much

In similar fashion they could add zero to the expansion and just keep things as they are - why should anyone complain about the lack of new features since they already enjoy the game?

They can't add "zero" to an expansion, when it was made to "expand" the game, though. An mmo evolves; not sure why this point is being made

I think it's SUPER interesting that matsuno said on Twitter male viera have a boxer body and he talked lots about them. That makes me really positive hat they have already made a decision but are simply not gonna tell us until the missing genders are released, which makes total sense

The only thing I hope for is that they are elegant and femenine, but I'm not sure if I want bishonen. Their animations could look femenine since no male char has femenine animations atm

I don't want them to be feminine. I want them to be the cool, fierce defenders of the forest they're depicted as. Asking for the existing races to have broader customisation to account for that aesthetic makes more sense to me than hijacking Viera to be something they're not.

Which is a strange guess to make given how they have been described by Yoshi-P and Matsuno both in terms of general commentary and within the lore itself.

Well, In all honesty as long as they arent like male higlander or male au ra with their animations I'm fine. What worries me most is their running which imo should be similar to the female one since that one is great imo. Also I hope they dont make them too manly or aggressive, since pretty much everything (other than male elezen male lala and some would say miqote to some extent) are kinda like that.

I think the issue here is that you're conflating elegant with feminine. I absolutely agree that they should be elegant. That is not, however, the same as being feminine.

Regarding how aggressive or masculine they are... going by Matsuno's tweets, and their lore, if their attitude is reflected in their animations, I suspect it will be closer to Miqo'te's predatory poses, more than anything. Which is good, since Miqo'te males have very fluid animation, so adapting something like that for mViera would work well.

Whilst I'm a fan of how Au Ra males animate, I realise they're pretty butch and are not exactly the most elegant creatures out there, but that's fine since it fits their lore well. Their animations, as such, wouldn't be a good base for Viera, because they're all about being boisterous, whereas Viera males intend to keep a lower profile.

Whilst I'm a fan of how Au Ra males animate, I realise they're pretty butch and are not exactly the most elegant creatures out there, but that's fine since it fits their lore well. Their animations, as such, wouldn't be a good base for Viera, because they're all about being boisterous, whereas Viera males intend to keep a lower profile.

I love Male Auri Animations as they are super awkward... over the years i've grown to love that goofy run including the limp arm jump thing.

And perhaps that is the case for certain individuals. Or perhaps they are sufficiently dissatisfied with enough elements in the game that taken together, this will lead them to quit and stop holding out for improvements.

But that is exactly why I am using that extreme - to make the point that expansions and evolutions on the game matter. Playing the same thing for 2 years, or more, can grow stale. Two races that I don't intend to play because the gender pick I want is not available fall into the category of features that add little for me, much as they might matter to others. Features like new races are added precisely because they're content that matters a lot to players and can add more players to the game.

This guy calls anyone who disagrees with his agenda a troll or being offensive and aggressive towards him, so its best to just ignore him and post on. Iv already said numerous times that I am not against having male viera, but because I feel like SE could do the same things that happened in FF11, apparently I am trolling and being specifically aggressive and offensive toward him. Which is odd, because I am just posting and he makes a direct post to me about how wrong I am to think that it will happen the same way as ff11 when this is 14, then get butt hurt when I don't agree with him.
