You're quite literally being mocked in public.
Either way regardless of looks they should rectify fixing the genderlock as it is inherently limiting of player choice on top of the already huge limitations each race seems to have on the benchmark. Hopefully with an update to the base character creator or at least better scar and facial hair options for the races applicable to it.
Oh ok. Like I said, I'll ignore anything like that, but I agree with that person's desire to get muscled male viera
Also, @Theodoric, I reeeally hope that male viera's racial gear will be a loincloth, and as revealing as the female's

You know what else goes well with muscled bunny men? Loincloths!
They're quite comfortable, too.

This seems to be the closest to the original concept they had, we can all have opinions on how they will look but I honestly think they will stick to what they had (maybe change a bit since that was during HW) with the kid concept out of the picture since they basically confirmed that’s not happening. All we know is that they are tall and elegant, and slim like elezen, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t buff. They could still be buff but just slim. Looking at the concept I think au ra got the body type male viera was going to get so it might be similar to au ra build. Also they had concept of the males with fur patch (hope it’s still a option since I know 50/50 want or don’t want it. All we can do is speculate and try to ignore the hate. During ShB yoshi states we will find out a lot of information about them so we may get a better understanding of their appearance and life style and maybe why they are hiding (hopefully come out eventually)
You can't go skinnier than male Elezen. For females it works but for men you'd get walking sticks. Male Elezen are already very skinny.https://i.imgur.com/94M9lrE.jpg

The only way to make their appearance correspond to their lore is to make them beefier than Elezen. Thing is, male Elezen already exists...they HAVE to make their body structure different, and going to the skinnier side looks hilariously skinny for a jungle warrior.

The game expects you to suspend your disbelief enough to see Pipin, a 3 foot tall talking garden gnome with a sword, as a formidable foe on a battlefield.
Their appearance "in accordance to lore" could mean anything. While I would like them to have broad shoulders and some muscle, they by no means need to be beefy.

Well but let's have an honest discussion.
1. You're comparing job to race and gender
2. Your job doesn't have a physique requirement
Race physique and looks is determined by the environment that race has been living in for over thousands of years. Lalafel fit in perfectly in the sands of Ul'dah and the plains of Vylbrand.
Now, could have Lalafels been added as jungle warriors? Sure, but this is where we hit a wall; female viera exists. This not a brand new race that doesn't have a counterpart to inform us of what the males would look like, so much so that we already have art for them.
You can't run away from this
The problem is you can't reach that jungle warrior description going skinnier than male Elezen.

The first day of World Visits on Crystal was wild. Everyone and their mother smashed their way onto Balmung to see what the fuss was all about lmaoYour signature always fascinates me Rokke.

Topic:
It's less the job and more the fact that Lalafell exist in this world period. Because they, and a bunch of petite female races, exist we have to accept that we can’t apply real world logic to Final Fantasy logic.
irl, I am the same height as a female Au Ra and the Au Ra of the steppe are supposed to be dangerous. By irl logic if I had an axe and you were unarmed I would be dangerous… but overall it’d probably still be easy to take me down axe or no axe. Im in good shape and could swing an axe decently (I can chop wood no problem and played softball in highschool/college) but ultimately I’m incredibly petite. The entire steppe arc is kinda silly to me, someone who is 5’1”, because my boyfriend (6’1”, significantly shorter than a min height male Au Ra) can easily pick me up and throw me if he wanted to. Magnai, a 7’2” muscular male who has spent the bulk of his life swinging a comically huge axe should be able to lop my catgirl’s head off with ease. But irl logic =/= final fantasy logic and in this game we are to accept that tiny females can be “dangerous”.
Logically, a race of amazon-esque people (as in, people of the Amazon jungle not of an Amazonian Wonder Woman-esque trope) would be short, lean, and weathered by years of hunting/gathering under the harsh elements of a jungle. An aged Viera should look less like a supermodel and more like Yoda. We are supposed to accept that a 100+ year old Viera female who has lived off the land her entire life is still stupidly pretty. Could a male Viera be muscular? Yes. Could a male Viera look like an instagram model? Also yes. Could a male Viera look like Pipin? Unfortunately, still yes lol.
Don't get me wrong: I LOVE that concept art. You can check my post history. I want male Viera to look like that (or like FrischeNq's art ). But in the same art book that released that artwork and at the same event that revealed that concept art, we were also shown
By this game's logic, if we are to accept Pipin as a threat we cannot rule out unsuspecting strangers & unwanted Garleans going into the jungle and get shanked by bunny ear’d underwear models. Is it kinda silly? Yeah. But for better or worse Final Fantasy™ has always been kinda silly like that.
