another housing complaint thread

I have lost the EXACT same plot in 4 different wards across 3 days and over 35 hours to people relocating. It is unbelievable how bad this system is.

If it's so bad then quit. You'll be doing others in your situation a favor by being one less person sitting at a placard. You'll also be saving yourself stress and grief. Win-win

Either you have a house already or you can't afford housing. Your negative input is unwanted. How about you take your toxicity and go elsewhere. We're busing complaining here. xD

OP, I think your best chance of getting a house right now without click spamming placards is by moving to another datacenter. Aether and Primal have consistently been full and low on housing compared to Crystal. I have a toon on Gilgamesh & on Famfrit and I check housing as I log on, even Famfrit which is a preferred world has had 1-3 vacancies only and they do get camped. I only got a house because the person camping with me quit and went to sleep. The housing system really is a mess. The RNG with placards, the relocation sales so you can get specific plots, and the system for FC housing where people just buy multiple FCs all have to be addressed. Solutions other than instanced housing would be:
1. Improve already existing apartment system - include a balcony for garden plots and it's basically the same functionality as a small house
2. Disable relocation or change the way relocation works so people don't use it for malicious purposes to reset timers or for "sale" on Reddit / discord / outside of the game
3. Limit FC housing ownership to 1 per account like personal housing. Take away houses from people who are using loopholes to acquire 2 or more houses.

Hi OP! Yeah, I understand that. All the effort and connections would be gone. That's mainly why I made my 2nd toon, because I wanted to be able to go back to Gilgamesh and say hi to friends and stay in the FC I'm in. I've visited Jenova and other Aether servers since the merge and you guys are lovely! Hopefully they announce something by the next live letter in June. If not, fingers crossed for demolition to kick in on your server and hopefully you get lucky. Maybe other FC mates can help camp with you at the same time? Ask them to mark themselves as busy while they AFK. It's definitely a deterrent to most other people if 10 people are hanging out a plot even if only one is clicking. Although there are malicious people that relocate for fun just to mess with people clicking placards, those are the exception.

The first wave of auto demo since they turned the timer back on should be hitting in June so hopefully that'll help things. You could get small plots on Diabolos on the regular before they turned it off.

Contributing if only so Square knows just how many players are unhappy with this. It's not a matter of fixing the timers, though one could focus on that after several attempts at click wars and hours upon hours standing at placards....

It's a matter of making housing available to everyone. All players pay the same subscription and deserve to have access to all aspects of the game... including workshops, subs/airships, gardening, and interior design. Quit making vital game features exclusive to only a percentage of the player base. I just don't understand that type of thinking where you want to create a caste system of players.

Server load issue? I believe you creative and resourceful folks can figure this out. Already working on it? Let us know so we can have hope for future content.

Maybe. Though even if it does, it wouldn't resolve the overall arching problem that is a finite resource.

My only assumption at this point is it's meant to encourage people to keep their subscription because if you end up losing your house after not playing for 45 days it's going to be VERY hard to get it back VS "I'll just buy another one."
Although that doesn't keep those around who don't have a house. Some will resort to cheating or quitting over such matters I'm sure, which is likely counterproductive to the above of trying to keep people around.

Guess what, won't ever be able to get a house. SE should probably just remove any mention of housing in marketing, because at it is, if you don't already have a house, you're, not getting one unless you transfer to a deserted server, and so much for playing with your friends in an FC if that's the plan.

Yep someone with a house and who probably had a wonderful night took the plot.
