Thinks it's the 6th that we'll see the demos happen but a lot of those plots won't be available for new purchase until the 7th because of the timer. But certainly by the 7th.

Only one housing plot available, a small in the goblet.
I don't know why the developers are more concerned about creating "desolate" areas, by adding more housing wards. They should be more concerned with a "normal" population server, still a month out from release of 5.0, that only has one housing plot available.
Problem is, people stop complaining about the horrible system, the moment they get lucky and get a plot. I'll probably do the same. But the problem remains.
Great housing system you have here.

Tomorrow (6th) or the next day (7th) there will be a ton of houses opening up. Will it be enough no but it will certainly be the start of demolition of unused homes on a regular basis. SE would do the community a favor if it stopped the needless stopping of the timer to satify the perceived needs of a few suffering from natural disasters while hurting the community at large. The past stoppage was above and beyond anything reasonable in my opinion and has hurt those looking for housing big time.

0 shirogane, 18 in goblet, 1 in mist, 2 in lavbeds, all smalls ...
I just wanted to say that, I finally got a small property for my FC after complaining about it for months. It remains that I have the resources to afford, and would prefer, to have a medium plot, but for now I'll take the small (not much choice).
The fact remains that the housing system is still very new-player-unfriendly, and it is next to impossible to get a plot under normal circumstances. Once these plots fill up (which I'm sure they will within the next week or so), we'll be back to where we were, with bots clicking placards, desperately hoping for a house.
However, now that I am in the housing market, I have no reason to complain about the horrible system, so this will be my last post. Thanks all, I hope this helps players in the long run (though I doubt it will change anything).
Take care, happy gaming.

Do you mean to say that you will no longer complain about this at all? Or that you will no longer post in this thread?
I'm asking because if your reasoning is "well I got my house now, the problem is over" then you're contributing to the problem. SE aren't going to change the system, that you yourself said is horrible, if there aren't enough voices demanding it.
Do what you want of course, you don't have to keep posting about housing. However someone without a house reading your post could feel pretty annoyed about your attitude changing from pushing for change to becoming passive when you finally benefited in a broken system. Sure you're far from the first person to have this mindset, but most appear to have the sense to not publicly confess it.
And my apologies if I misunderstood your post if the above does not apply to you at all.

That's kinda how I understood their post as well. I've been lucky enough to be able to snag up a small plot for myself, but just because I got lucky with the current system doesn't mean the system is good.I'm asking because if your reasoning is "well I got my house now, the problem is over" then you're contributing to the problem. I think if they would allow people to upgrade the size of their apartment/FC room, it would alleviate a lot of the anger people have over housing. My biggest beef is that the apartments are so gosh darn tiny that they aren't super fun to decorate. A small house gives just enough room to satisfy my decoration itch.
I'm not saying allow apartments to be like MANSION sized, but allowing players to upgrade the apartments to maybe medium sized would probably make a lot of people pretty happy. Sure, there would still be no yard to garden in/decorate, but it would be a step in a better direction while also not stepping on the toes of people who own an actual house.

I hope SE looks into the housing aspect of the game once Shadow Bringers has settled down.
Seeing sprouts whether alts or truly new players, strengthens my stand on requesting/lobbying for a form of an improved apartment system, with a bigger floor area possibly as wide as the 1st floor of a large estate (if its really not possible to have progressive upgrade options for apartments), with an instanced balcony that allows gardening. So that new players can have some form of private housing, that is a little on par with that of plotted houses. Untill such time that they have that rare opportunity to own a plotted house.
(If SE stands by their decision to maintain the housing districts as a form of rare commodity.)

Wasted like 20 hours since demo day. Between getting ousted by people relocating (because the only people that deserve housing are those that already have one apparently) and loosing out on the STUPID click wars, I'm pretty much done fighting this failure of a feature until they get off there arse and do something about it. I wish we had a cumulative total of how much time SE has made us waste.

Too bad you're not on Bryn. We have a lot of smalls open, some mediums. Hell, two of the most desired Mist mediums (right on the beach) opened up the other day. I almost gave up my Shiro mansion for one, but chose not to, hoping SE increasing the item limit on larges.
