Looks like that Tank Mastery is at level 1 for the -% reduction. I do like having the thought of something like Steel Cyclone on standby that can absorb some HP if I suddenly get swamped in a dungeon, lag out and get stuck in a yellow circle. Guess I need to know a bit more, but will pick up my G.Axe and swing away in 5.0 again.

    I like change they are about to make with tank stances. 95% of time I'm spending in tank stance, cos I it gives me agro bonus and much more staying power, therefore I feel much safer. Dpsing as tank never was my priority, no matter what others say. Now with reworked tank stance and offensive stance gone, tanking gonna get more simpler and I like that.

    I'm very much in favor of the change.

    Now, I can see why someone might be disappointed if striking that balance with stances was something you enjoyed. But as a tank it's always felt weird and wrong to me to be sacrificing survivability for more damage. I like that tank stance is just about enmity now.

    I really like the PLD shield charge. Beyond that I'm waiting for the specifics on changed, removed and added actions, but I'm optimistic.

    But that's just it... there wasn't a balance. It was start-the-fight-in-tank-stance-and-swap-to-dps-stance-two-globals-later-and-never-leave.

    The changes are amazing, they constantly phrased things as they got rid of dps stance and kept tank stance... tho from what they showed they made dps stance base-line, made an enmity toggle, and gave some traits to replace what else was lost with old stances. So now you get the best of both worlds without the dmg penalty, which is great. This means tanks that were playing optimally and never touching tank stance after establishing enmity still get the mitigation, and for the ones that nerfed themselves with tank stance before have no excuse to not be doing dps.

    Im excited to try overpowering with no tp cost and beast gauge gain per hit/per gcd. Then using steel cyclone in between every few hits. Big pulls are going to feel better imo. Especially with the new aoe included as well and no damage penalty for being in stance. I can do more damage AND survive more. (If it works as i presume.) I only wish that steel cyclone has the same potency as decimate. I dont want to lose decimate and inner beast. If they merge inner beast effects over to Fell Cleave, then i wont care.

    They solved the tank stance concern the correct way, i.e. not making things hit so hard it's required even with its drawbacks so we feel inadequate when trying to do damage still. At average to optimal play, now all tanks will play like "aggressive tanks" and do their damage rotation, while intelligently using their defensive cds when needed.

    For the tanks that liked to try and push damage while still tanking, we won big on this one because we can still do that, and be in our tank stance now.

    As an aside, the changes specifically to DRK look great, and they didn't take TBN or Bloodspiller based on the leaked tooltips which now are all but confirmed by the skill video, which I was worried about. My only remaining fear is we lost healing on Abyssal with the removal of DA and an MP cost, there's just no way they kept the heal with no drawback to use the attack.

    DPS is now even more your priority with these changes, because the damage nerfs are gone and all of your DPS skills are available in tank stance. You're still going to be expected to be pushing damage with these changes, moreso as there's no threat combo so therefore, your damage rotation is the ONLY rotation.

    Warrior from what i saw, the Inner Beast and steel cyclone animations were redone, when he placed a shield on the sch he got a buff u can see two fire orbs rotating around him and they disappeared as soon he used that Axe spin move. during the tank break down in the live letter Yoshi said that by doing a certain move we would active a buff "War Cry" which would make our damage accelerate and make our Fcleaves look like scratches. making Warriors the hardest hitting tank out of the 4.

    Yeah, dps will be even more expected from tanks now, but I"m fine with it. I didn't like the old system because sacrificing enmity/survivability to deal more damage felt counter interuitive and weird as a tank, but that's where the game's design pushed things. Now, we put the defenses and the dps together. Best of both worlds. I don't mind pushing damage it just always rubbed me the wrong way that doing so meant sacrificing defenses.
