People doing strange things like posting 4 times back-to-back is why this thread is so long.
From what I can tell MANY of the post here are from a select few posters either echoing to themselves or fighting.

That's basically just a Miqo'te but with bunny ears. I'd rather get something different.
Most of the 'likes' occurred during a period of outrage. The number hasn't increased significantly since that outrage died down. It's a popular thread, sure, but at this point there's the occassional new poster showing up with the majority of activity coming from the same select few posters - myself included - posting their support. Often to the point where they leap at the chance to post once again as soon as someday else lays down a fresh post.

More likely to get more likes when 5.0 hits and more folks who don't really care about the live letters or keep in the loop will find that they desire to play as a male. Or those who join in the game later on. Either way, those who keep complaining about the thread are just bumping it up and posting multiple times themselves - so, you know. Shrug.
My point was that you still have more than just a couple of people in this posting and there are even some that are completely new to the forum, only logging in to give their support. And then you have a very few people that are completely against it. But to show the true support of a thread one should not just look at the amount of posts but at the amount of likes and that is huge. Of course there is a difference in the amount of posts to the amount of likes but it still shows the interest and the likes show the 99.9% unique amount of people in support for this. So going around and saying that this is inflated (the person she answered was counting the likes too not only the pages) and does not show the amount of support is false. This relies on the idea that every like equals a unique post in this thread.
There are currently 1676 likes on the op and 4983 posts. For there to be better than 50% unique male Viera posts in this thread that would require 2,491 posts in favor of male Viera in this thread... that is incredibly clearly not what happened. I know personally I have at least 20 posts here against male Viera and another 20 or more tentatively in favor or just unopposed.
The person you quoted is entirely correct - there is no way half of the posts here are unique posts from individual supporters of male Viera, the math just doesn't check out.
I'm all for supporting male Viera but I think we need to be honest in doing so.
And because of posts that write only about how many posts are useless thus kinda taking away from the topic too and increasing the amounts of posts at the same time. (But at least it keeps it active on the front page.)
That is still the most liked topic of the forum for all the years..yes there will always be a time where people voted the most (which is when its revealed) but the amount itself is already big. No amount rage ever got that much attention on the forum. Be it Eureka, Diadem, Blue mage and its restricted jobs and more. Yet somehow this does not show the demand? Is there even one other thread that has ever had more new people constantly coming in to talk about it? I honestly dont remember it. But I do remember that some of the more talked about topics often involves the same posters, which is kinda normal for a forum. (Look at the bunny suit thread, or the ones that want more male glamours. Most often even if someone else starts a new thread about it, a lot of the usual posters will answer it)

And in a way answering any fresh post even if its still only the same people at least shows that they are dedicated to it. And its kinda the point of a discussion forum too.

It's simply a matter of tempering expectations. I want them to be added at some point and I have said as much throughout this very thread. Though there's a lot of different factors to consider.

To be honest i dont care myself if we get male bunny or not since i will be extremely unlikely to ever play it. Even then the difference to existing characters/races isnt big enough to make a big fuss about in my opinion.
There for sure are, but I hope they prioritize the missing genders over Eureka and Limited jobs

I mean, if we're talking about appearance and what not - we're not talking about it, but I demand that we do. I'd love for them to have that chest/collarbone fur - I also still want the males to look rather Jackalope like. So the males have ears but also horns. I think that would add some 'fierceness' to them even with them being elegant and handsome looking.

I mean, I'd take the race over limited jobs - some folks seem rather keen to keep Eureka, so I'd refrain from cutting that, even if I dislike it. But I wouldn't sacrifice savage or ultimate for Viera to be brought in asap.
