I would caution against reading into everything as a positive sign or believing that you can foresee what square will do. This is the exact mindset that made people believe that the "to us male Viera basically don't exist" lore dump was actually confirmation of them coming and not square foreshadowing that they were not. Low expectations will let you be surprised down the line or at the very least not as let down as you would be. I'm obviously not saying not to show your support or your enthusiasm for the idea of the other genders being added, but at this point if you EXPECT it you may be setting yourself up for more disappointment.

I agree with all of this. It's good to be hopeful. But don't expect the opposite genders any time soon. There's a lot of work that Yoshi has spoken about, a lot of issues that need to be fixed before any more player character models can be implemented. I would set the expectation of no earlier than 7.0.

Agreed. I don't even want male Viera so it's no skin off my back if they're implemented, but if even I am even thinking it's a matter of when (not if) they're going to be implemented that's a big problem to someone building their future hopes around this race.

Yoshi almost never says no, but he has danced extremely close to no with the recent Lotd.

Don't let the fact that he gave a hard no (playable children) in that same letter convince you that other responses were yes.

I'm not saying to just give up and assume it's never coming, but the best option in this case would be to just act as if it's all over for now. Be pleasantly surprised if news arrives in the future, rather than go back to waiting for years for something they've said is outside of their scope and requires fundamental work for implementation. For something that could well never come.

The number if posts is vastly Inflated by people posting many times a day (such as yourself) and many of those posts are people saying they don't want male bunnies. I'm willing to bet less than half of the posts in this thread are unique posters that want male buns

Then all of us few people are also using second and third accounts to like the OP? Because you can only give one like per account thus there should be over 1.5k people on the forum alone that support this and seeing how most people even dont visit it, that is huge! Also I was reading this thread from the beginning and the majority of people that posted in it wanted male Viera (there was just a longer discussion on how they should look like which is fine) and only a very small amount was against it and even there you have mostly the same people that come in again and again to stir trouble. And please dont forget all those people that logged into the forum for their first time just to either vote against genderlocks or for Viera or Hrotgar.

You can be against it, thats fine. But dont try to take down this thread as just whining of a small minority when the likes alone is showing a very different picture.

Also I must say I would not mind if head gear or gear under lvl 50 and that isn't glamour isn't visible (maybe make all the trash gear sets look like racial armor?)

Not only that but they could go and say that only certain glamour will be seen. Maybe all the high lvl stuff and maybe all the real lvl 1 glamour. Everything in between or even the whole low level stuff could be either pushed back or never done. At the same time they are kinda at fault for this bloat too. I was just recently doing some of the new flower headgear and wondered to myself: Why do we need 9 different versions of the same flower in different colors instead of just having one with the ability to change color...I mean if you have 10 different flowers that means we already have 90 unique items..instead of just 10.

In the end if the next expansion is not better than Stormblood in content (especially for the casuals) and there is no sign of the new races coming in 6.0 it will be my last one. I wont wait up to four years or more for the missing gender if the game itself is not getting better for me.

This relies on the idea that every like equals a unique post in this thread.

There are currently 1676 likes on the op and 4983 posts. For there to be better than 50% unique male Viera posts in this thread that would require 2,491 posts in favor of male Viera in this thread... that is incredibly clearly not what happened. I know personally I have at least 20 posts here against male Viera and another 20 or more tentatively in favor or just unopposed.

The person you quoted is entirely correct - there is no way half of the posts here are unique posts from individual supporters of male Viera, the math just doesn't check out.

I'm all for supporting male Viera but I think we need to be honest in doing so.

I honestly think that SE should and can do this for 6.0 and I don't get why you are all so cool with waiting for 4 long years to get something they already told us in an interview we would never have to wait to get. Completely agree with the second part. I will wait only until 6.0 and if be missing genders aren't already added then I will either drop my sun between patches and reduce my sub to the most basic or find another game to play whatsoever, since for me races are a huge part of a game and I don't like to support a game with genderlocked races personally

GuysI just saw a screenshot of a male au ra that was modded without scales and had bunny ears, and I honestly think it looks amazing. I hope the male viera's body type is like the male Au Ra personally
