About the new items on mog station

You purchased the stream, not the items. I purchased the stream and Odin statue. If they were to make the items that comes with them available through other means, I wouldn't care since I got it for free and other people will pay for it.

No, you purchased an entire package of items. The stream, the clothes, the minion, whatever else came with it. You personally can justify how you spent your money on that package. You may feel you bought the stream and got free items. Others may feel they bought the items and got a free stream. It doesn't change the fact that both of you purchased a package of goods or services and some contents of that package had the word "exclusively" attached to them.

You may not have an issue that those items exclusivity was broken, but other people do. Those are the customers complaining now and they have every right to do so.

Back then, I didn't buy the stream, because it'll be a waste, my Internet can't handle it. So I am very glad that they added the outfits to the mogstation I can just pay directly for those instead.

I'm still waiting for the cumulus cloud to go on the mogstation, as Aus/NZ couldn't get it when the other regions got it. My region makes the promos awkward :/

Arguing which is the free item and which is the full price item, when the two were impossible to buy separately, is 100% semantics.

That being said, this game has a history of putting limited-time items up on the mog station, and especially with this gear where the only accomplishment done to get it was "I spent more money back in the day", I don't really see the issue. Old items get devalued and sold at cheaper prices all the time, and this isn't any different.

The moogle attire was the Fanfest '14 bonus gear and it's been on the mog station for ages. It only makes sense that the other fanfest stream items from later fanfests would follow suit.

The reason I never saw anyone with these items was the reason I enjoyed playing two years of SB with the Abes Attire. If everyone was handed these things I probably wouldn't have cared or used them.

In regards to people saying that all we had to do to get it was cough up the extra money.. you're right. However everyone values money differently depending on how much you have, which gives the things we buy with that money sentimental value unique only to us as individuals so while some people may not have cared about the glamour or only wanted the stream, there are others who couldn't care for the stream and just wanted the items because of however high they valued them based on whatever is going on inside their heads (myself included).

You don't go to a rock band's concert and buy a t-shirt from a previous tour that the band did, they sell you the shirt from the tour they're on. You want the tour shirt from the one five years ago? You should have been there. This isn't the best example but I think it gets the point across.

As someone with all the preorder items I would LOVE for them to become available for the people who didn't happen to have the chance of getting them!
Timed availability (especially when resources aren't limited) is dumb and preys on people with anxiety.

Besides, why are you surprised? Past fanfest items (like the moogle outfit) are on mogstation. So that's not exactly new. People knew they would come to mogstation eventually, just not when.

It's different than getting the minions from merchandise such as soundtracks or emote from statues, since Square Enix never (as far as I know) made these available for those that did not bought the merchandise.
I am pretty happy with the outfit, since the deal (stream+minion+outfit) wasn't very interesting for me at the time. I don't have alts so the 30USD for an account-wide outfit is over the top, the minions are just okay for me and I wouldn't be able to watch the stream live anyway. So I waited years to get the outfit I wanted.

I am the type of person that find this whole feeling a "sting" because something is not exclusive anymore very silly, but If you want to feel like your character holds something special, maybe grind for rare items in-game? Get a rare weapon/mount, idk.

You just used your credit card to watch a livestream and got some perks and now you feel bad because you feel like no one should have another opportunity to get those 2 years later? That's just... honestly, mean. I'm glad that Square Enix doesn't hear players like you.

I'm sorry for you then. It must be hard that in order to be able to enjoy things, they must be exclusive or rare so you can feel special. That sounds exhausting.

I have higher sentimental value for things that I know are unique or no longer available to be purchased or obtained because that makes the items "special" for several reasons not worth bringing up - but for everything, not just virtual items in a videogame. I'm 100% fine with other players having the items, if anything I enjoy seeing players with exclusive items that I either do or don't have. Whenever I'd see someone else with something exclusive I like jumping around on the same mount or in the same glam and making a new friend. If everyone has it than there's no memory to connect with another players.

While I may be able to continue that dialogue over something FFX-related, I'd rather be talking about XIV since that's the game I'm playing.

Edit: My issue is mainly with the exclusivity and not the sentimental value. Taking it away removes a reason why I would engage with another player with any exclusive item because for all I know they just bought it off the Mogshop, they don't have the memories that the original purchases have from when they did get it. Memories of watching the stream, playing through HW, looking forward to maybe getting something Blitzball related etc. are being mixed with memories of "yeah I just picked it up on the Mogshop for leveling alt jobs".
