If SE would enforce the guidelines you agree to when you become a mentor some of this behavior would drop. Too many agree to be a mentor and the act like it’s not their job to actually be a mentor.

There are no guidelines. That, perhaps, is the crux of the issue. Nothing is said beyond helping new players/adventurers, which isn't really relevant in the content that is being referred to as by the time someone has played enough to unlock EX Trials they aren't really going to be considered new.
