Today I waited from about 3am to 12pm for a plot, only to get sniped by a person who already had a house.

Not only did they do this, but they also made fun of me, and trolled for a few hours before doing it. They tried to make me afraid of their ability to do it.

Square Enix, we need more wards. Wayyyy more wards, and we need to put housing transfers on a timer. No one should get an advantage over housing.

I would report them for harassment. While the system allows them to relocate and that was within the rules, the rest of what they did was sheer malevolence and it's one of the issues the GMs are actually allowed to deal with.

I agree with Dusty, however I also agree they need more wards. Their system is woefully inadequate. And after having an apartment it is not the same as a house.

I'm having a hard time imagining that someone would troll you for a few hours, while plenty of other house-hungry Balmungers could easily swipe the house.

I don't doubt that words might have been shared between both sides, but I'm struggling with that other bit.

Hours is hyperbole most likely, but i’ve Seen quite a few people trolling the folks at the placard then dropping a house. So it’s not out of the ball park.

It is really harsh for someone who has been camping for hours only to have the house swiped away by someone transferring to another plot.

Once I came across some players who wanted a house for their FC. This house was a house I wanted to transfer to, but after talking with them and learning that they were waiting all night, I decided to not transfer. While transferring would've been in my right, it would've been pretty cruel to do knowing these people have been waiting. The people were very grateful, and I checked the plot the next day. Luckily enough, they were able to get the house. Even though I didn't get the house, it felt good.

I believe the timer restriction should be the other way around.

People transferring plots should have to wait out the timer, and first-time buyers should be allowed to bypass the timer. And I'm saying this as someone who owns a house.

Fixed. People keep complaining about timers when it is not gonna solve the problem of housing shortage, especially when tons of new players or returners will want a plot as well at Shadowbringers release.

And then old players who waited more than one year for an house upgrade will complain of new players snatching better plots than them XD

I don't see why there shouldn't be a preference for relocation as it leaves a plot open. At this point it seems pretty clear SE intends to just add more houses rather than go instanced and if they're going to do that then but a random small somewhere, save up your gil and upgrade when you can like the rest of us.

The trolling/bullying/whatever is clearly uncalled for but it doesn't change the argument fundamentally.

They definitely need more of something.. Prefer instanced houses over more wards (don't care to share space which promote limitations on the player's design options). Sucks that they taunted you afterwards though, housing system has been and is definitely a good salt generator as it stands (they've enough to preserve the world now, endless salty fries for the world! xD).

Hope they can get something done such that every single person and FC can find a home in the size they want, and if this was Wildstar type housing it'd also be in the style and location they wanted. Like Azim Steppe, own that castle :P. Or airships.. I like those.. :3. Although I imagine more likely if they can find a solution it'll be a way to upgrade apartments in size and hopefully outdoor (balcony/floors).

I'd be fine with housing as it is, but this nonsense of people not even playing the game yet keeping a house -- heaven forbid two or three -- needs some work. It needs to be a royal pain in the rear to upkeep that much property on your own with it being such a valuable commodity.

That and requiring people to sit in front of a placard for hours is just straight up malicious design reminiscent of the worst parts of the worst days of FFXI, and it needs to go away. Maybe an open auction would be better; I'd rather see overwhelming gil win at a fixed time (and get eaten by the system) than unhealthy encouragement to stare at a placard for up to over a day.

That and personal transfers need to go away entirely.
