Yes, at that fanfest they revealed the males that would be released in ShB and also definitively stated female Viera only. That's just one of many things though.

Male Miqo'te.
Where in their Lore is it stated that they "simply don't exits to us"? Cause there's a big difference between being not common and straight up "they don't exists to us". There's not many Male NPCs but they clearly exists to us in this world. A NPC that says they "simply don't exits to us" is a good indicator.

One gender not being done (which was the case for male Hroths, mind) and building hype for something never before seen in the franchise. Again, I agree that if it was a single race, despite it all it would've made a lot of sense to reveal them together, but it's not like splitting the reveal made no sense whatsoever.
Then WHY not have them in the race's final concept art that ended the reveal? They coulda said "Oh, no males in the trailer? Haha ... we had to finish up the females first cause of Fran." As we know they're NOT against stating that things are only just getting done.
WHY even bother revealing the Viera Females at that event when they coulda waited for the males to be done if you think that's the reason? If they were 1 race with 2 genders it would only make sense to wait until they're done with both to reveal them. It's not like Viera show up in any other content shown at that event.

Again, just parts to the whole.
