If they do add them, it likely won't be until 6.0 at the earliest. Any sooner would risk them being rushed.

My goodness I will never understand the need to tease people because you don't want the same thing as them. People all over the world would like to see both genders of all races. People love having options and it shows their investment to the game. So basically.....sshhhhh let people enjoy things. Your opinion is still valid even if we don't agree with you.

I'm really hoping that SE keeps male Viera and female Hrothgar open as options to expand upon. While I understand that the resources may not have been available for both, it seems like a lot of the fan outcry could have been avoided if they had expressed a level of candor about it and been forthright like "Hey, we only have time to make half of each now and we're proud of both so this is our compromise." Outright seeming to say "No" has been rough for everyone and I'm sure the Dev team isn't feeling appreciated for the work they have put in already.

The excitement for Viera was dampened for me because they're my ideal aesthetic class, aside from Elezen. I was very much hoping for them and I am sad and pouty that it's not going to happen, at least not right now, and maybe not ever. I honestly considered not returning to the game. The three major things I love in this game is the ability to race change, playing pretty dress up, and taking glamorous screenshots. I've been every race currently available. I was looking forward to being a male bunny. Since I did not like the Roe aesthetics, I severely doubt Hrothgar will make it past the Benchmark as far as characters go on my end. I would have loved to be a powerful lioness Hrothgar too, as that directly appeals to my glamour vanity. I collected a Smaug-esque pile of glamours to use for 5.0; I am pretty dedicated to my wardrobe in FFXIV. I raided specifically to get glamour pieces. I changed my outfit Every. Single. Raid. Day. I was fresh AF.

I hope that the dev team reconsiders for the future. I will not be surprised if they do not, but it would be an exceptional kindness to their fans if they did.

I have had a random thought (dangerous i know) but i think the devs gave themselves more work with doing female Viera/male Hrothgar than just doing 1 race with both genders (i've been growing to the idea this is probably for the best as there is a chance for both genders to be added rather than 1 race mayhap never would've seen the light of day otherwise) and this due to their heads they had to design/model and adjust for 2 different types of heads rather than 1 with the release of a single race with both genders.

The base model of each head would be the same but it would have a few modifications based on gender but by choosing to do 2 different races they have to do 2 different base models for the head, this ofc is a sizable increase to the workload and probably why headgear will be locked off for the expansion launch, they overestimated how much work it was. Its all a theory though so who knows
