Fran's outfit looks extremely close to FFTA and FFTA2's viera non-job outfit. If we call that "starter gear" then the FFTA and FFTA2 starter gear only differs from what Fran wheres with added sleeves and a chain bodice sort of deal. If we got that as starter gear but not Fran's and Fran's was added to the mogstation, then I'm sure it would upset some people. In addition to that, Fran's outfit is already in the game as an asset so that's ultimately why it got used.

These aren't XIV's own interpretation of Viera, they're just Viera cosplaying as Fran.
Granted, according to our friend Beki_Bayaqad, Fran is a useless, nameless shmuck because she doesn't make use the Grand Poobah of the Dalmascan rebellion and unlock a Dalmascan housing ward for use. :B

I didn't say that, I didn't say any of that. I said, that while she was important in XII, she's not important in XIV. Her role in XIV is to be an NPC who gives flavor text during the Orbonne raid and to showcase what the Veira will look like in XIV. That's it. And the playable Veira aren't cosplaying as Fran, they're wearing Veira style armor. I seriously don't understand why you're being this argumentative over this because it's making you look really weird.

Where have I said I wanted "Bikini armor" which this isn't. Fran wears a full leotard with the stomach cut out and she has a piece of cloth covering it. Aside from it also being *armored.* That's not a Bikini, so when you decide to think for me, please *think harder.*

I didn't decide to have her in the game. Ypshi P and the team decided to use her due to FFXII's PS4 upgraded HD rerelease gave them access to an HD, current gen level sprite to use in FFXIV without having to remesh anything.

They HAVE to cut corners because SquarEnix gives them next to nothing as a functioning work budget since all the Higerups in the company regard XIV as just a revenue battery for other more deserving projects. On top of that, you are not going to see anything else related to Dalmasca in in this game since the 24 man raids in that area have concluded and the point of it was fanservice for thefans of the Ivalice Alliance and Tactics series of games. Like how the coming 24 man raids are going to be for fans of Drakengard and Nier
