Alliance Raid Roulette Dynamic AIL Enforcement? Yes, please!

Talk for lucky people XD... I have an alt who almost NEVER get de 10000MGP with daily tickets when other people sometimes get several times three tickets with 10 000. And the Revue is not really fair to new players (you need often need last gears from higher contents). Same with Chocobo, you need food or to be lucky with the bonus your chocobo gets.

Easy? RNG can be a total nightmare.

What? It's nothing to do with luck. You can get an easy 80k from the fashion report once a week, the challenge log throws MGP at you like crazy, G.A.T.E.s are now every 20 minutes so you can pretty much do them ad nauseum. Chocobo races have matchmaking and even then you don't have to get 1st place to make a lot of MGP. You can cheese Verminion tournaments for another truck-load of MGP regularly.

Of course if you're just relying on the daily cactpot it's gonna take forever.

I also understand why people are so quick to call you a liar so try not to take offense at that (hard, I know). In my experience people just like to argue with things they have a hard time believing. Sometimes it devolves into personal attacks. I've been on the receiving end of that as well and it sucks. On the plus side, this community is far less toxic than that other MMO whose name I shall not mention. Try not to let people on here get under your skin, its tough when no one sees the point you are trying to make from your point of view but unfortunately its just human nature to disagree with one another. At the end of the day we are all just fans of this great MMO just wanting our experiences to be the best they possibly can be.

Then... where are the proof of abuse? If people are not far enough in MSQ to unlock higher raids or are running an alt, a secondary job and need training, you want to force them to run higher content... and then other players will complain the player is not good enough?

OP did specify some scenarios where it's very obvious people where cheesing their ilvl for that purpose. It's unfortunate but I find it not as bad as people who do Expert roulettes with less than minimum ilvl but manage to get in because of accessories, like a tank I bumped into recently who insisted on doing the newest experts with i330 weapon and couldn't keep hate off any of us.

And I see no point in calling OP a liar either, what they described is a perfectly reasonable scenario and although I never experienced it, it's very much in line with the other exploits people carry out in this game on the regular.

The fashion report? You almost always need gear from 60+ contents. You probably imagine all players do these contents or have many gils to spend. Even with my main I most of time don't have the items.

PS(2) : I don't talk about the OP as a liar but wonder about the fact it could be an abuse. People are not necessary ready for the last three raids or are afraid of wipes. People who remember Ozma maybe don't especially want to run this kind of content.

Your entire premise is based on someone's ail hindering your options for play. By your logic the lv 50 player that has not unlocked other parts of the game is hindering your options for play by joining the roulette. Why don't you report that player for obstructing your play? For that matter, my decision not to join the roulette is depriving you of a tank for a run which is hindering your options for play. Would you like to report me for violating the TOS for not doing the roulette? Nor are either of us

There is 0 difference between a lv 70 wearing lower level gear for a roulette and a lower level character wearing gear of that level. Neither is a violation of the TOS and neither are obstructing your play.

If you're concerned about the chance of getting the most current raid in your roulette then you should probably stop doing the roulette. The DF puts groups together then it filters it based on what requirements are met, then its a random roll. The roulette algorithm doesn't weight you towards the higher end of the raids, its a pure 1/9 chance to get any given raid with a full alliance of Ilv 380 characters. What this also means is after we get the 3 Eden raids, you'll have a 1/12 chance of getting the latest raid, in 6.5 it will be 1/15...see where this is going? The odds are not in your favor of getting the one you want based just on how the DF is designed.

When you consider that the DF is made for everyone and not just end game play then you also have to realize that includes people who have not reached end game or who haven't unlocked everything. There's simply more people who have unlocked the first set of alliance raids than there are people who've unlocked the rest so when it comes to the matching algorithm you have a higher chance of being partied with someone of lower level or who simply hasn't unlocked the higher level raids yet. This is not obstructing you, this is enabling all people to participate in the content. The roulette is there to party people together and it gives rewards to people for doing that in recognition of the fact that you likely won't get a high level roulette and the rewards those inherently bring such as gear.

You're always going to be more likely to get a lower level raid. Its not cheating or obstruction or against the TOS, its just how the population of the game is spread out. You aren't being denied anything or blocked from anything or have reduced chances of anything. If you want the higher level raids, queue directly like everyone else.

I guess by the same token a level 70 queueing for Orbonne is obstructing gameplay for the 23 other level 70s who queued into the roulette hoping for Mhach. It's a ridiculous notion no matter which way you spin it.

To the OP, as an player since the Bêta, if you want to do the last raid, to get your drop, most of time you need to specificaly tag for the raid you want. Don't expect to go in the raid you want with the roulette. That's not designed for. On the opposite, it is made to help new players and allow players to run old contents. Have you never been obliged to run ten or more WoD to get your weekly drop? I did.

oh yeah. i totally get where you are coming from, and have personally been playing since beta phase 3. but keep in mind, newer alliance raids drop a token. normally it is pretty common for at least one of those 3 alliance raids to appear in the roulette, and that is on a daily basis. if you can manage to get all 3 throughout the week doing something you would normally do anyhow... well, that is just less to do at the end of the week. or just one more thing one would have redundantly done earlier in the week. as far as grinding for a specific piece of gear, obviously you wouldn't use roulette for that. and if you wait too late you might have to settle for something else not as interesting.

either way, i still feel there is plenty reason to try and prevent people from manipulating roulette results. and also, on the point of roulette benefiting new players to clear content for their first time. yeah, this is true. it is the primary reason for roulette. and the rewards are to keep players coming and therefore keeping even the oldest content relatively relevant. with that said, those who manipulate the roulette are also taking away from those who are queuing for something higher level trying to get a clear.

The Alliance Roulette does not just pull in people queuing up for Alliance Roulette, it pulls in anyone doing any 24-man content for any reason. Right now, with all the megahype around Crystal Tower being super relevant to the next expansion, you're getting A LOT of people running the CT raid series to get ready for Shadowbringers, either because they never did or because they're refreshing themselves on the content before ShB. It's only natural that those will be the most common things you see in Alliance Roulette at the moment.

Imo smt gotta be done, just like on trial roulett. But its actually easy:

Lv50-60 unlock all 3 raids and have the min. ilvl for the last one.

Lv61-70 unlock all 6 raids and have the min. ilvl for the last one.

Lv71-80 unlock all 9 raids and have the min. ilvl for the last one.

As we can easily get the last engame tome gear, crafted or whatever on the next expension its not that harsh. But around smt like that would work...


On another note, the que itself gotta be changed to work like in PvP, so when 22/24 ppl accept it still starts and fills the slots later on. It sucks when the whole thing breaks down cause of one dps >_>

I don't think too many people are worried about it. Mostly because when it's the roulette, people are fine with whatever results they get from it. Its basically the requirement of the Roulette.

Thats the point, ONE person draws all others into the lv 50 raid just cause hes lazy...

Meh... I've only run one raid I think that was required for the MSQ. I died about 10 times, and would have left, but it didn't let me.
I have absolutely no plans to run more of them.
