RP and RPG are 2 completely different things. I play FFXIV because I enjoy the game. I'm not saying people can't RP, but it's very annoying in dungeon parties.
This sounds a lot worse then just the party chat.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I've blacklisted people for less.
No one wants the chat box spammed, whether it be bot, or RPer.
That is actually even worse. You aren't just spamming your party, you are spamming everyone. So if you were in alliance raid, then the other alliances would have to see your silly macro.
I think people need to just stop macroing abilities besides Rez.
Having a macro for Rez is completely acceptable. It lets people know you are rezzing someone, so someone else knows not to waste their time/MP.
Other abilities with long cooldowns like Hallowed Ground, or Living Dead is okay too.
There was a time when the spectacle of adding flavour-text to one's spells was actually encouraged, though i get how it can easily turn into something obnoxious when the flavour-text for a spell macro is in all caps and it's just the name of a spell or something silly.
But even back in 2.0 days people had a lot of fun with that sort of thing, and as far as i could tell; people generally didn't seem to mind as long as they were having fun with the content.
Things change i guess, as well as people's attitudes.
EDIT: I do want to add that there was and i think still a way to add flavour-text without it showing up in the chat bar itself so it doesn't disrupt or flood the battle chat, i believe you can set it so it only shows up in a text bubble above a character; i feel like that is at least the more non-disruptive way to do that for spell macros.

It was rather annoying back then tbh. The bards who had silence macrod with flavor text and sounds that they pressed repeatedly every 30 seconds cuz macros didn't queue. What fun that was! There was a time when the spectacle of adding flavour-text to one's spells was actually encouraged, though i get how it can easily turn into something obnoxious when the flavour-text for a spell macro is in all caps and it's just the name of a spell or something silly.

Hey now, calling it silly is rather insulting. I would call it unnecessary. Sounds mean, but ultimately true. That is actually even worse. You aren't just spamming your party, you are spamming everyone. So if you were in alliance raid, then the other alliances would have to see your silly macro.

Especially are healers waisting their mana for nothing in my parties because i already raisemaged with dualcast.
People can RP all they want but as soon as tanks go into duties without a jobcrystal (yes i had this, thankfully just once) or the chat gets spammed by text macros with or without sound it has to stop. RPing is the same as everything else, there is no problem with it as long as you don't annoy people with it.
No sane roleplayers actually do RP inside dungeons, unless it is with a premade party where the purpose is to RP inside.
I've had my party chat spammed by a Dark Knight that had custom text linked to their attacks (in the party chat). It's still annoying either way, dungeon, or otherwise.
This right here. I may be on Mateus, but you wont see people going /em turned the corner, unless they're actually crazy or outright don't know it's not the norm. And in all my dungeons and trials, I have never seen anyone try.
