Rp servers?

Hi fellow Warriors of Light! So I love making awesome macros, and I only put worded macros on spells and abilities with long cooldowns, or situational ones. However, some people hate when you have any worded macros, and they have told me “This isn’t an rp server weeb!” “Go to an rp server if you want to act like such a weeb!” And I’ve never thought about it till now, but are there rp servers where people like me use macros? If so, which ones are they?

I know Balmug is generaly considered an RP server.. I thinks there's at least 1 per data Center not sure about the others offthe top of my head.

But you should just ignore people like that anyways.. If your enjoying yourself with rp macros you should enjoy it. If they get on your nerves about them.. Blacklist the jerks

Lol they don’t upset me. Everyone has a right to their opinions. I just figured I could have less people upset with me if I surround myself with others like me. Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look into the server.

Mateus is the other big RP server that I am aware of (Balmung always being locked and all), but as long as you don't have the macros on something you spam (Raise is a good one for the macro, since it warns the other healer) it's not usually an issue and people are just being picky.

Well, those people are just being facetious. When running content, people generally aren't looking to make or read long winded macros. They just want their seals or to get on with the story. However, there are RP groups that run content together and do that. But in a pug? Not so much.

Not too long ago i did a duty roulette normal raid.

I had two fools that had like all their most pressed abilities macro'ed with capslock lines.

So the tank that kept using dark arts had his macro saying "DAAAAAAARRRKKKK ARRTTTTSSSS"

Over..and over...and over..

I had to block them both, it was terrible. My entire chat window was spammed to hell.

Wish there was a report spam option in game, because there is no good reason to macro your malefic.

Trials Roulette one time took us in to the Final Steps of Faith, with one of the healers being a Conjurer and they had macros for pretty much all the (limited) actions they could use. Eventually we kicked them after we wiped, as the other healer new to the fight struggled to keep up by themselves, but boy that CNJ made an entire identity out of the class just to RP a particular way that they wanted.

In all though, as long as you are considerate about what kind of macros you use and how often, I don't think most players will be too bothered about it in duties as long as it doesn't cause any major disruption.

Back in XI we had a general rule, don't attach macros (at least ones that appear in party chat) to abilities you use often. And often generally meant abilities with a cooldown of less than 3 mins or so, people that had overly flowery voke macros always got comments. RPing as your job is fine but always be considerate of the party who may not want a chat log full of prose.
