Let's not beat around the bush. You're only thanking him because it reinforces your own narrative and attempts to stamp out opposing viewpoints. More than a few posters have come forward to point out that the art in question is creepy, so it isn't an uncommon point of view. As I mentioned earlier, if you show random people in the street the art they'll no doubt express discomfort and a measure of contempt. At least in regards to the genuinely unsettling art pieces!![]()
They're facts. I can promise you that. Why don't you print out a copy of the art in question and hand them out to random people on the street to see how they react? That'd be a fascinating revelation for some within this thread, I suspect!I'm not trying to shut you down though. At all. Even if I was that would be a pointless goal. But I'm glad you have that opinion of my motives. Thank you for the kind thoughts. I'm not even trying control anything.
I'm arguing with you because you bring up points that frankly make little sense beyond just being opinions. You present your ideas (or "opinions") as fact and you keep asserting things like needing the bun bros to be "classically handsome" and how the fanart being posted is lewd or...."pushing the boundaries of what is considered to be acceptable within polite society." You yourself have tried shutting down people who want something contrary to what you want. But it's cool. You can ad hom me all you want. Doesn't make your arguments any stronger. And yeah, I'm glad you're not easily deterred. I quite like arguing with people. So please continue.

Most of the artwork isn't any different that what you expect from Viera though. Anyone who gets upset by a person being shown with a lot of exposed skin needs to make their bed in a nunnery. I doubt most people would even care tbh. Most people don't play MMOs and therefore couldn't give any less of a hoot about this stuff. And since you're so concerned about the modesty of our dear game, why not ask for more conservative racial gear for roes and the existing Viera/Hrothgar? Or how about the Emperor's New armor set? What about the myriad of skimpy armor that can be worn by both genders? Are those bad too? Do those make FFXIV look bad as well?
Your "facts" are nothing more than bad faith opinions presented to do the very thing you accuse others of. But again, it's all good. I'm having fun with this.
A lot of people aren't at all bothered by exposed skin, so long as it is tied to characters that look to be of legal age. I suspect some of those taking issue with the use of the word 'creepy' to describe such things are irritated that their dog whistling is being called out. MMO's attract some genuinely terrifying individuals after all, who get up to some very sinister things online! Most of the artwork isn't any different that what you expect from Viera though. Your point being?A lot of people aren't at all bothered by exposed skin, so long as it is tied to characters that look to be of legal age. Again... There are very, VERY few people asking for those types of characters. Very few. And of those who are, you can't assume that it's for the wrong reasons. Are those people out there? Sure! But most people either expect/want something to match what we were given. Every online community attracts undesirables, not just MMOs. And most people who play MMOs (myself included) do so because they want to be an awesome character with magical powers. Sometimes that character comes in the form of a graceful dude who communes with nature and has a pair of bunny ears. It ain't that deep bruh. We just wanna have fun playing as bun bros throwing fireballs. Nothing more, nothing less. The REAL creeps have long been denounced.A lot of people aren't at all bothered by exposed skin, so long as it is tied to characters that look to be of legal age. Edit: By "we" I mean those of us in the pro-male Viera camp.

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft
This just in, Men without stubble and concrete block jawlines are "creepy"
Truly, Thou art an immeasurable blessing upon our community. Ceaseless in Thy condescension, serving ever as the font of bad faith opinions presented as incontrovertible facts. We kneel before Thee, and pray our supplication doth magnify Thy glory. Ad Secula Seculorum.
"Hello, I'm auditioning for the role of Ser Aymeric de Borel, and I'll be singing Electric Chapel by Lady Gaga"
There is a big difference between an adult who looks like a fit adult male and an adult (and all the adult things adults do) who looks like a prepubescent child.Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

It creepy when it's with female characters and its creepy when its Male characters.
Its basically The excuse by those defending their wifus looking like children cus they are 1000 year old dragons or what ever so it's fine if they look like 5 year old girls.
Ffxiv has never shyed from the adult topics in both npc interactions and clothing options for both genders.
If it would be creepy for a little girl to be wearing a sexy bunny outfit its creepy if a little boy wears it too.

I recall someone here calling the concept art I posted "creepy".
This one in particular
????
It's just disrespectful all around - to the people who are requesting it, and to the artist themselves. How about not insulting people? You're free to post what body type you would like male viera to have, but don't accuse people of disgusting things. Just because it's not a body type you want male viera to have doesn't mean you can drag people's reputations through the mud. If you don't like it, simply disagree and don't attack people's character.
I tend to run my characters around in questionable outfits quite often. Even when I'm playing as my adorable little Lala. I personally have no issues with this at all as I don't consider any of the playable characters to be children. Sure, there may be some more youthful looking options, but even then, I've never equated them to anything else but adults. I'm sure a slender male Viera would hit me the same way. There is a big difference between an adult who looks like a fit adult male and an adult (and all the adult things adults do) who looks like a prepubescent child.

Now, I am actually a chick in RL. Does it make it less creepy for me to like the slender/less gruff looking models? I could be grossly misreading some people here, but with at least one person in particular it feels like it's simply creepy because it's being posted by and praised by people with male avatars.
