Dear devs. Pls keep the races gender locked. It's already bad enough with all the cat boys in drag.

I mean tbh, there was enough frustrating garbage in this expansion alone to make me personally unsub regardless of the genderlocks.I'm sure there were a number of problems with their expansion/ addon that resulted in that.
Do the snowflakes upset enough by no male Viera to leave this game they have poured 100s of hours into add up to any noticeable number?
Kinda apples to oranges imo. People are being alarmist as hel trying to elevate this into something bigger than it is
1. Terrible terrible implementation of eureka, anemos was meh, pagos was just offensive and STILL hasn't been nerf'd
2. We still don't have a fix for basic QoL things like an easier set-up for cross hotbar for controllers and east coast lag going unaddressed.
3. The terrible early launch, raubahn ex happening, despite them touting how much of a budget this expansion had.
4. Only two new jobs despite heavensward giving us 3.
5. Job balance being hit or miss and straight up ruining jobs for others, I pretty much quit NIN because it felt so janky and ten, chi, jin just wasn't it for me.
6. Swimming turned out to just be, flying but with a jarring water filter to it, my gathering friend says it's fun but I don't gather so it just served to make the journey through the ruby sea twice as annoying.
7. Buttcapes in the year of our lord and savior
8. PVP spell speed hackers are still a thing.
These were some things that just made me consider unsubbing personally. I decided not to because unlike Blizz devs, I genuinely do believe XIV's dev team are doing their best and honestly care about player feedback, as much as I hated eureka I could SEE what they were trying to do. As much as I despised exploring I could TELL what kind of feeling they wanted to impart, for me I chose to stick around because I really trust the devs to fix the issues that I have in shadowbringers because I know they at least try to bring something special to their players.
That being said I do think there are legitimate reasons for someone to unsub outside of no male viera and the game does need some backend fixes still.
Why do you keep calling it an add-on? Its an expansion.
And i don't know if you even play WoW, but people didn't quit over a "race". People quit for many good reasons.
Its Blizzard's own fault for their playerbase leaving, they made terrible big decisions on changing the core gameplay.
People quitting over a genderlock race is just such a minuscule thing to quit over, to the point that its completely childish.
Especially quitting now when the races aren't even out, and you haven't gained or lost anything.
Call me ignorant, but you cannot change my mind on this matter and how i view it.
People can cancel their subscription for any reason if the game doesn't meet their expectations anymore. I myself am not going to unsubscribe, but I understand people who do so and respect their decision. Of course, it's not good for the game's development (if SE gets less money, they will have less money for hiring somebody to create the male Viera model), but we can't force anyone to enjoy something they clearly do not enjoy. Why do you keep calling it an add-on? Its an expansion.

Single player games by and large have set narratives where you play as an established character. MMOs, on the other hand, are set up in teh fashion you create the character you want to be mainly as a self insert or similar device.
Most people are fine with the single player aspect where you play as a pre-established character (and even single player games are branching more out into being able to choose gender). Its when you gender lock an MMO which is set up where your character is a lot more 'blank slate', it matters more.
As for people unsubbing, I think its kinda silly, but its their money and their time. If they dont want to play teh game because they introduced something they dont agree with, thats fine. I dont see that as childish in any sense. If anything, calling someone who is unsatisfied with a product and choosing no longer to support it childish is kinda silly. People are free to spend their money and time on what they want. You may not have to agree with hwo they spend it, but its their money and time. But I think its anything but childish to make decisions about how you spend your time and money. Not sure how exercising your ability to make decisions is childish. It's not like theyre taking anything away from people who are choosing to stay, and youre not obligated to read any thread regarding the topic either. So, really, whats the issue here?
You forgot the Bots ruining the Marketboard on every Server.
For me, the DRK was an absolute miss.
Dark Arts spam, till the Skill felt absolutly empty and shallow.
Because those two words mean literally the same thing and nobody really cares.
The Witcher 3 calls it "Expansion Pack" on the Box and Skyrim Dragonborn back then called it an "Addon" and both added new Areas, Quests and other Content...and honestly, who gives a damn.
Otherwise I would need to say "But nyaaahhh, it should be called Expansion Pack!" But hey, I am german and doing this is even to german for me.
And the 14 Players who unsub did it not just because of the missing male Viera, but they were something like the straw that broke the camel's back.
So many Players are unhappy with Heavensward 2.
A lot of things were handled pretty lazy with Stormblood and not everybody sees this Game anymore as a Game they want to pay Money for.
Especially paying 35 Euros for ShB, just to say "Nah, feels exactly like what I expected and now I feel like I wasted Money.".
I can understand this, because I was burned by a few Games I pre-ordered, like The Division.

I mean, arguably, we are. Less money goes to SE, less money gets to XIV (intentionally split the two because we know it's not 100% cash flow back in from subs), less resources to get anything done.
But that's the reality every company has to face with its clientele - joggle your resources and decision making in a way that will get you - maybe not more money, but certainly less losses. And incoming hyperbole - and if for some reason XIV crashes over the Bunnypocalypse, I'm sure many, many people will blame the people who unsubbed, when it was SE's decisions and hype management (or mishandling) that brought us to that. Because a lot of those unsubs and expansion cancellations could've been prevented.
I'm still salty about when glamour prisms were like 30k a pop minimum so I say death to the marketboard. At least bots can't PM spam anymore.
Dark arts is just a dumpster fire, i really hope they thoroughly re-work it. A job should not require crab hands to be playable.
