It sounds like you are saying discrimination is perfectly fine if:
1. its in a game
2. its in another culture
3. (im adding this) its not you

There are lots of things in the world that are horrible. Like you say, this is a fantasy. The devs have the option to leave ALL the horrible things out. Why are you ok with adding in discrimination?
Would you feel different if they forced you play a cutsie helpless little female character? I bet you would.

This game literally starts with a calamity that kills hundreds of thousands of people, in the middle of a bloody war for conquest, and you draw the line at sexism? If this wasn't Current Year™ I would assume this is concern trolling.
There's plenty of examples of sexism already in the game, Miqo'te society for one, which have been mentioned several times.
You're also not being forced to do anything, you can keep playing as you have, nothing has been taken from you.

Stop trying to make this about politics.

Seems like people are just upset they aren't getting their bunnybois and forgetting there are other people with different opinions out there. Then you have professional victims coming in and claiming this is all dog-whistling on SE's part.

Strongly agree! I would love to see both male Viera and female Hrothgar in the game and really hope the devs can make it happen.

Thank you Yoshi P and the team for giving two races along with new classes, I hope in the future you will give us male Viera. I think big enough fanbase of the players would make it a good idea, and im also not fond of gender locking and I was very proud of ffxiv for not doing so. I am for male Viera, for 'lore friendly' i mean we have crossovers with monster hunter and now going to have a flying and swimming car. Au Ra aren't supposed to be seen a ton but they are everywhere, we have soft cat boys and even a very soft face for Elezen. Its possible to make them a very cool 'cold' look on the hardened male viera as well, whichever everyone decides up, but I hope it's to progress forward with keeping not gender locked even if it takes awhile

I wont speak to your later complaint, since it's generally not worth it as much but I personally am MUCH angrier about the Ronso/Hrothgar then the Veira. On their own they would be bad enough, but genderlocking the Ronso is a slap in the face to everyone who loved them from FFX. Some of the first Ronso you meet are blitzball players with plenty of women among their number for pete's sake.

The reason for the fuss over male Viera and not as much for Hrothgar is because
1- Vieras are more popular;
2- People would rather have a complete male and female race than 2 genderlocked races, and Viera was announced first;
3- Most complaints are about genderlock, and that already includes Hrothgar.

How does anyone feel about just making a mass "post writing" day. The fact is, we won't be able to keep up this energy consistently. However, if organize we pick one day of the month for about a year or so, to really pour our hearts out here. Then we can stick around as a relevant topic

This is a great idea! I’m new to the forums but I’m definitely down to keep at it.

I’m also thinking of starting up a social media campaign to help drum up support and keep the momentum going on this. I know the OF is our best bet to voice our opinions directly, but if we can get the message to go viral it might attract wider attention. If not only the players but games media start asking about it, it might give the message more weight!
