Because dumping stuff in RNG lootboxes that you don't even know how much to get is 100x better design, have some decency pls, it's not like hoards are a better rewards system then lockboxes or bunny chests.

If you don't like RNG lootboxes you don't like both version, not 1 is ok because you like the content more

The difference is, that Potd and HoH appeared once for in whole Addon, not 4 times in a row in something around 12 Months.
Potd and HoH felt like niche Content because of being a "once per Addon thing".

Was Eureka or HoH fun for me? No.
Would I want to take it completly away from the Players who like it? No.
Would I accept that a Part of the Community did not like Diadem, Diadem 2 or Eureka? Yes.
I would reduce it to two instances per Addon and do a cut.

If there is a larger variety of Niche Content Types that are limited to 1-2 per Addon, we would see much more happy Players.
But Yoshi can't drop his Idea that everybody loves endless Trash Mob Farm in MMO-RPGs.

Yoshida: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.

Yes, it is a Theme Park Mmo and every Theme Park...MMO or in real life survives by a wild mix of Rides.
Rollercosters, Water Rides, Horror Hourse, this Tower thingi...whatever it is called, Artist Shows, etc. And this is what I mean by "1-2 times per Addon.".
But Yoshida feels like the owner of a Park who starts to be obsessed with building Horror Houses. Despite his last two just were a flop and his new one is a big controversial Topic, that made many very unhappy by locking all Food Stores behind the exit of it and then repeating this 4 times in a row.
