Im not actually pleased by the Viera. Not the actual inclusion, mind but the fact that they pretty much look like hyur with ears attached to their hair (I feel they looked more like rabbits in ff12). However I'll save final judgement when I can see all the customization options. Hrothgar too. SE took a huge risk putting in a purely beast race. That's a lot of work making sure current and past gear can even be used, let alone trying to fit certain head pieces on an elongate face or over large ears. I'd rather they put effort into say...accent dyes (the dye ui has had this built in for ages, just not the implemenation) than worry about head gear that may or may not even be logical given the race.

Also whats all this about no Empire in the storyline. The Empire has never left the storyline. Ever. If you're talking about not getting to see Garlemald, I don't mind that being fodder for a future expansion. Am I a little disappointed? Yeah. But not enough to unsub. (Still waiting on Zenos x Zenos nekkid battle).

And god. I'm tired of the whining over BLU. We already have our flavor!mage (RDM). Blue magic CANNOT stand on it's own. It never could. Thats why it was always attached with standard melee/ranged attacks in other FF's (in FF8 it was presented as Limit Break only skills). Here they've chosen to present it exactly as it is: a quirky collection of status/buff/damage incidentals. They are fun to watch and a challenge to take into anything higher than ARR worldmap battles. I've done 90% BLU Extreme Primals and one memorable all-BLU run of Syrcus Tower. If they took the restriction off right now and threw in some of the more powerful BLU spells (like Auto-Life), BLU would still be an incidental job, only taken to high-end because of its buffs/debuffs. What most people are wanting is a full rework and even if they did, people would just call it an RDM clone. I'm happy its here at all. I respect the push back but BLU has always been the odd duck in ANY ff. Is it really worth unsubbing?

Not really. I never felt like they implemented those Mounts to make Players start raiding. This was done by lowering the difficutly...which from my View made just a small fraction of the Playerbase happy, while the Raiders now often feel underchallenged and all the people they hoped to jump on the Raid Train did not jump onto it. It worked for a few Weeks, when the first Omega Tier came out, but now...all those Players went back to "Nah, I do not care for Savage.".

What makes me feel this way about Eureka is, that Diadem #1 and nobody played it. Then we got Diadem#2 and Yoshi got his Shitstorm for the 280 Weapon hidden behind RNG. It did not work. And now für Diadem #3 he punched even more inside of it.
It feels like Yoshi believes that if he puts a larger Carrot on the Stick everybody will love it.

I rarely saw Players say "I dislike Savage a lot, but I play it for the Mount and the Weapon.".
But in Eureka we had dozens of Player being AFK till the NM appeared and then fight for a few Minutes and go back AFK. Something that tells me, that there is a high chance that they do not enjoy this Content.

Maybe I would feel less like that way if there would be less Eureka in Stormblood and it would not feel like Yoshida can't drop the Idea of the Diadem.
Mostly because I feel he spend to much time with the Idea and now is unable to drop it for his own good and tries to fix it over and over and over again, trying to make it work and a big thing in FF14.

I have met some Devs on Cons who told me about being obsessed with an Idea for a Game and how hard it gets to drop it, when you have spend to much time with it. And how sometimes another Person of the Team needs to drag you out of this Idea.
I would not really blame him in a bad way, but I think he needs someone being super honest with his Ideas. Not to hurt him, but to stop not spending to much time with an Idea. Like the Gauges in SB, some are great and some feel straight useless, by just replacing a simple Buff for a Gauge.

When people told me about 11, they told me how the Devs tried new Stuff and if the Players did not like it, they made something different instead.
I just can't remember the waves of praise for the Diadem anywhere...perhaps I missed that Parade.
But Eureka does not feel like people explained FF11 to me. It felt like somebody explained FF11 to me in 10 Mnutes and then I try to explain FF11 in 3 Minutes for the 14 Devs.

People assume those things based on how the Devs always handled old Content in the last Years..."just throw it in the Trash".
This is how it was always handled and if we learned one thing in the last Years it is: They always follow their formula. So they will also throw this one in the Trash.

They did not adjust the POTD to make it work with Lvl 70 Classes so now every Class feels broken while playing it.

That's exactly what I like about it.

We have limited fields. No night time. No weather. Or maybe there will be some crazy weather effects; haven't shown it to us though.
It seems the Garlean story line is getting shelved... does that too count as limited?

FFXIV clearly has a limited budget.

I have an idea! Let's make another Eureka for 5.x
At least the pettiness of the western com is limitless. Its something.

Feels like Eureka is their best asset for this: huge amounts of time gates for very little rewards. The perfect combination!
Oh, I'm not shocked by it being a part of any MMO, let alone XIV. I'm just shocked by it being something that Yoshida could speak of with pride.

At this point, it does seem very half-assed. Hope it turns out well.

I feel like people are in an uproar because really, at the end of the day, it's your character's race, animation and 'look' that matters most. People play this game for the story and the social aspect, not the actual gameplay, which is boring beyond belief. It's something you go through to enjoy the rest. And what's wrong with complaining about something you pay a monthly fee for if you don't feel like you're getting your money's worth? Nothing.

That is certainly an opinion. Though it is immediately countered by the fact that plenty of people spend an awful lot of time theory crafting for new jobs. Like you know, the whole DNC thing. There are also people that are eager to find out about the next raids and Ultimate. Hell, I'm one of those people who are eager to see the new crafter and gatherer content. Can't wait to see Eureka 2.0 and the full BLU implementation. A lot of passion for "things to go through".

Just because you and other people care little for gameplay (which is odd to me, but hey, it's your time and money), doesnt mean others or more likely, the overwhelming majority, share the same view. Nothing groundbreaking, I know.

    Top meme, 10/10

I'm personally far more excited for ShB than I ever was for SB, I'm planning on playing both jobs (depending how they play), and the aesthetic and visuals appeal to me far more than the Asian aesthetic (it's very FF9 to me). I'm also very excited for Hrothgar considering that I felt that races have been bland since the game launched (I wanted beefy dwarves, but I'll take lion man). The community is so fixated on the specifics that they don't have (that only ever existed in blind speculation) that they ignore the stuff we are getting.
