Im not actually pleased by the Viera. Not the actual inclusion, mind but the fact that they pretty much look like hyur with ears attached to their hair (I feel they looked more like rabbits in ff12). However I'll save final judgement when I can see all the customization options. Hrothgar too. SE took a huge risk putting in a purely beast race. That's a lot of work making sure current and past gear can even be used, let alone trying to fit certain head pieces on an elongate face or over large ears. I'd rather they put effort into say...accent dyes (the dye ui has had this built in for ages, just not the implemenation) than worry about head gear that may or may not even be logical given the race.
Also whats all this about no Empire in the storyline. The Empire has never left the storyline. Ever. If you're talking about not getting to see Garlemald, I don't mind that being fodder for a future expansion. Am I a little disappointed? Yeah. But not enough to unsub. (Still waiting on Zenos x Zenos nekkid battle).
And god. I'm tired of the whining over BLU. We already have our flavor!mage (RDM). Blue magic CANNOT stand on it's own. It never could. Thats why it was always attached with standard melee/ranged attacks in other FF's (in FF8 it was presented as Limit Break only skills). Here they've chosen to present it exactly as it is: a quirky collection of status/buff/damage incidentals. They are fun to watch and a challenge to take into anything higher than ARR worldmap battles. I've done 90% BLU Extreme Primals and one memorable all-BLU run of Syrcus Tower. If they took the restriction off right now and threw in some of the more powerful BLU spells (like Auto-Life), BLU would still be an incidental job, only taken to high-end because of its buffs/debuffs. What most people are wanting is a full rework and even if they did, people would just call it an RDM clone. I'm happy its here at all. I respect the push back but BLU has always been the odd duck in ANY ff. Is it really worth unsubbing?
