maybe...people are ok with new Ranged-DPS and new Races (Genderlocked)

    Hello

Shadowbringers is a new product created by SE, with 2 new races, and 2 new jobs. If you dont like what they have created, you can complain about it or just you dont buy it...its up to you...

New Ranged-DPS, pretty cool, we have been playing just BRD and MCH for like 4 years, now we'll have 3 of them, i'm happy for people who play Ranged-DPS. (I dont play Ranged-DPS)

2 new races, lions and rabbits, they look cool, i dont like rabbits being honest, but lions look pretty nice. They are genderlocked, i mean, just male for lions and female for rabbit, its ok, I would like some kind of elephant-man race, but they dont created it...i can complain about it of course , BUT i know that people will enjoy the new lions and rabbits...

So...between a lot of complains about Shadowbringer, You have one player here very happy with Shadowbringers.

If you like it that's fine.

    But this:

Is apparently "blackmail" to some people, and it's something that should not be done.
While others think that a company would be way too holy to be criticised, and dismisses those who would pick this option by essentially saying "get lost the community will be better without you".

Being able to like it is fine, and it's not something people were stopping you from doing at gunpoint.
After all there are people who would accept Selena Gomez as a boss in FFXIV without batting an eye.

But bad decisions are free to be criticised and should be put up to scrutiny. That's all there is.

Especially since it's been a series of badly justified decisions.

Yeah. Part of the reason forums exist is feedback, and people that don't like this development are free to voice those complaints.

And yeah, some people are going to be fine with it. That doesn't then detract from points people make that aren't satisfied though.

The thing is, there is feedback, then there is entitlement. Some people wanted Viera, some people wanted something unique and really didn't want Viera. Both those were satisfied while keeping within resources, and yet there is still uproar. Viera/Hrothgar is no different from male au'ra/female au'ra, they are radically different designs.

The only mistake that was made is that people assumed they were getting something and now they are salty that they aren't getting something that was never promised

At the end of the day I believe in capitalism. SE is a private business, they can do what they want. They can make plenty of decisions that will push out the player base that got them this far, if they want to. It's not wrong for players to feel a bit entitled. They haven't been paying for a simple product, but have been paying for a service. Players expect that service to evolve in ways that better facilitate their "needs", rather than in ways that abandon them. This doesn't mean they get to call the shots, but it does mean that criticisms are justified.

From the very beginning I wanted to fantasia into female Viera. I was inspired by concept art of all sorts that had been floating around. At this point I'm hesitant. I was never going to change to male Viera, but I feel if there's no male counter part, then the point of it is lost. I don't RP, and I didn't view Viera as a sex symbol. The concept art simply gave me a particular image that made me think "this would be cool, I would enjoy this". But now Viera simply has less options to choose from. It's that more certain that any other player will look exactly as I do. Viera is a coin with only one side.

Male-only Ronso just doesn't make sense.

Yes, OP, I'm quite happy with all the information.

I don't play healers, so DNC DPS is perfectly fine by me.
I couldn't care less if there were Viera males.
    Hrothgar look great!

I do sympathize with Healers though. I was fully expecting the new jobs to be tank and healer since it's been so long. I'm tank main, so I'm happy with GNB, but I know how Healers are feeling. Hoping for surprise announcement later.

im pretty happy too, I was disappointed for 30 sec that dancer didnt became a healer but then i got over it and moved on. (im still gonna play dancer) I understand why they did it and throwing a fit wont change what it is. I like the new races as they are, maybe in the future they will get rid of the gender lock and if not thats fine with me too. how the community reacts, in insulting ways and threats, is pretty childish to me. like children in the grocery store throwing themselves on the ground because their mother doesnt buy what they want. i understand that some people are disappointed and ofc they can even be vocal about it, but hell, what i see people writing is over the top, if some of them rly unsub i rly hope they dont come back, we dont need such people in this game.

Completely agree with you players need to express their opinions on a product they pay monthly and altho am not a RPlayer or will ever play male viera/female ronso understand those that want it and would like to help them find one way without damage the company financially to negotiate with SE to achieve their goals in game, not mine, theirs.

Well, of course there are people that are fine with it. This IS a public forum after all. Different folks have different opinions. So clashes are expected. But you have to admit, the sudden idea of genderlocking races after 2.0 went out of its way to abolish that is rather... disappointing... to say the least.

For me personally, I'm rather upset that Dancer got made a DPS instead of a Healer, especially since this likely means that healers are going to go six years without anything new to their role. Look, I understand that a new Physical Ranged job for DPS was needed too, but I wasn't expecting it to be Dancer. I was expecting some Sniper class job... or maybe duel wielding pistols for a new physical ranged DPS job. But shafting healers like this? When Dancer COULD have made for a rather unique healer? Bleh!

As I've said elsewhere though, I'm still going to pick up Dancer and play it since I've long awaited the job. At best, it'll replace Monk as my go to Physical DPS job, which means that I'll be going full ranged DPS in general once Shadowbringers comes around... when I'm playing as a DPS anyway. It's just... not going to see anywhere near as much attention from me because I'm primarily stuck playing as Tanks and Healers. (Because cue times and such, as one excuse) It's just that I feel that they wasted a perfectly good opportunity to truly get a new healer in the game.

The only way the developers are going to make it up to me at this point is if they introduce Songtress (probably go by a different name, so that it doesn't sound silly when a male character picks up the job) or some other job that at least meets me halfway of what I was hoping the next healer would be. (What I was HOPING Dancer would be, basically) Until then, since it's very unlikely we'll be seeing a new healer job at this point (unless they really surprise us soon), I'll just be sitting over here stewing in my own salt.

Don't mind me. I'm just boiling away over here...

I am extremely unhappy about there being no new playable option for healer, since I have to play it a lot but I don't really like the current options.

For Viera/Hrothgar, I wish that there were male/female variants, but I understand why they went this direction. People really wanted viera, but people also really wanted a monster race. A second gender on a race is effectively a new race in itself, since they have some different animations and different cosmetic appearances to worry about. Look how different male and female Au Ra and Highlanders are, for example. If they only have enough resources to give us two new playable looks, this is probably the lesser evil between "no viera" or "no monster race"

I'm ok with dancer being a DPS, but since I only get to play DPS as an alt when my friends are playing, and I was already very happy with Red Mage, I can't say I'm super thrilled. I'll try it, I might like it, but it can't be anything more than an alt for me.
