They continue to have my support, and this is coming from someone who really wanted DNC to be our next healer, which is far more impactful from a game mechanic perspective where race is just another version of glamour. Though I am not dismissing glamour as I find it to be a really important aspect of the game, just nowhere near as important as new jobs. However, another reason why they also continue to have my support is because I know there are many players who like to play a Hulk-like avatar, and these players are also getting a new race/glamour option which really would not have been there for them with male Viera.

Lore is important as well and the lore surrounding the Viera does not support playable male Viera. They couldn't have written it any clearer, and I knew as a result there were going to be many disappointed players when I speculated that male bunnies weren't coming in 5.0. I am in the small camp that supports female only Viera, and for the first time since starting this game, I am highly considering starting a new character since I would never fantasia Gemina into another race or gender. Plus, I've been interested in experiencing the MSQ from level 1 again for quite some time now, and fitting this character into Gemina's lore such as someone she takes under her wing.

Lore is not a valid reason, we have Yokai watch minions, Rathalos, the Regalia (soon), Tomestone phones, Cloud's motorbike and much more that doesn't fit into XIV.
That excuse went out of the window the moment Lightning came bursting into our world.

None of the things you mentioned need to fit into the lore. A new playable race does.

As kind return, I'll repeat myself for the umpteenth time: Arguments like this are along the same lines of tankinis and pigsuit glamours. Players such as yourself use arguments like these as valid reason to lift restrictions. These collaboration items and glamours that we can obtain have absolutely nothing to do with lore. They are in-game items that we can obtain for fun and that is really the end of it. You're not going to find them in any of the pages of the lore books, or mentioned during the MSQ. Do you honestly think because you can ride yo-kai mounts or the SDS Fenrir that SE throws the importance of lore out the window? Because that is absolutely ridiculous.

Would you be happier if SE never included items like these in-game? We can just go right on ahead and throw out seasonal events, that new cute fat cat mount, any and all minions that have nothing to do with the game whatsoever. You know, because... reasons. Lore is extremely important because it establishes the very cause and reasons for the events that take place in-game that are canon that you're dismissing as a result of your own bitter judgment because for some odd reason, you think the presence of a whisper go mount is both reason and cause for male Viera to be playable. smh
