Gold Saucer needs simple, quick, competitive minigames

We all know and love the Gold Saucer, but we all know it could probably use a bit more to really make it the place to go. We have some small arcade-like minigames that are used very infrequently and are done solo. The GATES were always fun to do for a while, but are really just the same each time. The competition involves an enduring strategy game, chocobo racing and various complications for tiers and capabilities, card duels (which are great!), and mahjong (which can take forever).

What the Gold Saucer feels like it lacks are some of the simple competitive games you could see in an arcade. For one, we need an AIR HOCKEY/PONG style game where we just try to bounce an object into the opponents goal. Another thing would be to allow us to compete with friends in the solo games, where we either split screen so we can see their attempts at the same time as ours (preferred) or takes turns to get the higher school (easier to implement).

The Gold Saucer is filled with people a lot more since it first came out, but we need these competitive multiplayer games to make it stand out. It has that arcade vibe but lacks the soul, and I know me and my entire FC would love it if we could just randomly challenge each other to some good ol' air hockey or if we could compete in the various single player minigames.

Yoshida did say they will look at the Gold Saucer after the launch, but not to get your hopes up on anything being put in right away. Also it's a little sad that the one person that was working on chocobo racing was promoted and now they'd have to take him away from what he does now for a short time or hire a new person.

Put in the snowboarding game from ffvii. Or up the prizes.

I still want to see the freefall mechanic from byakko trial (ofcourse with a parachute at the end to slow the fall)
or the suzaku arrow mechanic as a gate.

kinda unrelated but where the OP mentioned seeing other peoples attempts I sort of wish that was the case with the existing mini games.

Even more so with the ones you can put in your houses.

just be better to see people actually play than just standing there like a corpse.

they can just put many of the previous FF minigames and remodel it with FF14 style.
- snowboard from FF7
- G bike from FF7
- jump rope from FF9
- lightning dodge from FF10 <--- i really want this. an arena together with other people, dodging lightning like mad lol

and off course some sort of blitzball but probably the hardest one to do so i guess.
