    Inferno Totem drop rate

    When I first heard about the Inferno Totems being introduced I was very excited, as I'm sure many were.

    I was curious how many of them would be needed for a weapon. After fighting Ifrit at least 250 times in pick-up groups, I was 1/36 on the weapons. In my mind, 10 totems would be fair per weapon. Even if every attempt was successful, you'd need roughly 15 hours to accumulate enough of them for 1 weapon. Sounds fair, right?

    So 1.20 hits us and I talk to Rowena and discover that 10 actually is the set amount, yay! Perfect SE, you finally fixed it. Then I go to fight Ifrit...

    I've beaten Ifrit 13 times since the patch, and so far I have recieved 1 totem.

    Why are you doing this to us SE? At this rate it would take the average successful player somewhere around 200 hours to obtain 1 weapon using this method. I love your game but that amount of time is just wrong, and anyone who thinks that is a sane amount of time to spend achieving a virtual item really needs to reevaluate his or her current life situation.

    I apologize for not citing any sources for my calculations, if anyone feels like correcting or corroboration my numbers I would welcome it.

    tl;dr: Inferno Totems should have an individual 100% drop rate, please be humane SE.

    Oh man. I didn't realize the drop rate was so low...if not 100% it should at least be 75%-90%, that way it might take you 15 runs to get a weapon instead of an even 10 runs; a little time sink on a time sink is okay, but I believe when you take a time sink and compound it exponentially (like they seemed to have done based on your experiences) that's just torture.

    These types of statements used to excite me, but now I know it doesn't mean difficulty, it just means quit your job, leave your girlfriend and play 24/7 for 1 year until we are ready to launch 2.0.

    If SE refuses to make it a 100% drop, they could at least do something else, like make totems a 100% drop if you kill Ifrit in under 10min or something.

    It seems more like they didn't change the drop rate at all since 1.19, they just added one new item to the pool - "Useless fraction of a weapon." I can foresee some people having all but one weapon and still not enough tokens for the last one.

    It is the same way with Kupo Nut Charms. Completely retarded. It is more or less insulting to think this is what SE considers an acceptable fix to the terrible terrible loot distribution method that currently exists.

    Maybe it's time SE updated that notice before you select your character to better reflect the current FFXIV? Here's a suggestion.

    Give us back a REAL LOOT LIST with messages in the logs, and weapons able to be passed to people.

    It is not hard. The old team did it, this team did it in darkhold. Your experiment in "personal loot lists" failed, admit it and give us back control over our loot. This is an absolute staple of MMO's and as you work to get FFXIV "up to snuff" in comparison with other major MMO's on the market this is one area where you took two giant steps backwards.

    First you people whine that items are too easy to get, and not as "rewarding" as XI, and when they give you the gear grind you want you whine even harder. Is there anything you people won't whine about?

    People don't care about a Grind. We just want real loot lists, this personal crap is just that crap.

    This is nothing like FFXI was, it is completely backwards to how endgame encounters in MMO's have been designed for over a decade. GROUPS deserve control over their loot, and people need to be able to pass loot to others in the party when they don't need it and especially when they already have it.
